Quinn Urges House Democrats To Support Tax Hike « CBS Chicago



Here's the deal voters. The issue isn't about making the increase permanent, it's about the mismanagement of the revenue collected.

Those funds are designed for improvements in roads, bridges, schools, police, fire, and the social safety net. Unless you are a millionaire, or billionaire who by the way use the same services, the permanent increase is absolutely necessary. On the other hand voters, how those funds are disbursed, is where the problem begins.

Those "holdout" politicians want guarantees the funds will be divided appropriately. The increase will not turn this state into another Kansas. So the taxed enough already argument is mythical, and has no merit. If you voters need more proof, look at Texas. There, the slashing of taxes for the wealthy, and increasing them on the poor, and shrinking middle class, has left them with no funds for infrastructure repair. That is what Kansas will look like soon. The trickle down witch doctors are also making attempts at destroying the state of Missouri with the same policy.

Yes voters, spending needs cutting. It begins with the obscene salaries department heads grab. It should also include those politicians collecting multiple paychecks for sitting on different committees. There should be no extra pay for sitting on different committees. If that isn't mismanagement of revenue collected, call me crazy.
