We know all the weapons used in these shootings are illegally obtained. When will they make the possession of such, a maximum 10 year felony sentence? And speaking of sentencing, attempted murder should be a guaranteed 50 year hitch, and murder, life. It makes sense, and is constitutional. There's nothing "cruel and unusual" about it.
We all know the shootings are premeditated, and often times an element of conspiracy exist. These are rivals looking for nothing but expanding turf, and revenge. So once the great roundup begins, will others take their place? Sure, you will have a few that do, but others, once the sentencing takes affect, will think twice.
Simple sentencing guideline reform is how you alleviate overcrowded jails across the country. This idea will work.
