I understand the criminal justice process. You must encounter the Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How process once you begin building a case. The only exception is when a criminal act is committed right in front of you. The cameras, if there are any, document the crime and the perpetrator/s. The police make the arrest and if necessary request warrants for additional evidence. The prosecutors present the case before a judge. The judge depending upon the plea gives a jury the deciding sentence or, the judge does it themselves. But you must ask yourself, why does it take so long when these fuck-heads are out there doing this shit everyday? Only when it reaches the news media, you see officials scramble. This "fugitive" is a classic example of why the sentencing guidelines are a complete failure and must be reformed. 40 years for dope and a gun no doubt, illegally obtained. What's so hard about universal background checks? A majority of gun owners support this legislation. The problem is you have a GOP house and senate who don't give a damn what the majority wants, and they refuse bringing this legislation up for a vote. The solution? Vote them out. Law enforcement agencies can't set-up a database and share firearms sales information across state lines. The ATF can't modernize their equipment because of GOP obstruction. The gun show loophole is still wide open. Citizens and states can't sue gun makers or sellers. Repeat offenders stroll through the revolving door of criminal justice with no reform or enforcement of current laws insight.

That's some major problems with simple solutions in plain sight. So why the inaction? Why the silence?
