Unlikely allies behind marijuana votes in Washington, Colorado
Folks, you just can't beat common sense. Somewhere in the archives of this blog is a paper I wrote many years ago, on the subject of marijuana legalization.
For the sake of brevity, it basically laid out the plot by our timber barons for the criminalization of pot, because they viewed it as a threat to their bottom line. We all know, well, those that choose to be informed, of the economical, and medical benefits this one plant has proven that it can do. It's a cash cow. Criminals, private prisons, law enforcement, judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and elected officials know this.
Yet fear not all of you, somewhere, someplace, some idiot is cooking up a more deadly drug. They always do. So go after them. Marijuana will become legal once again. It didn't interfere with anyone's school, or work performance back then, or now.
