Holy hell in the city yesterday. How much do you want to bet the "surge" of federal officers will have little impact on these numbers? See, you need a plan when combating gun violence. First, you must shutdown the illegal flow of guns across the Illinois border. Second, you must shutdown the illegal drug trade flowing into the state. I know, easier said than done but, trying never hurts. Third, you must improve economic, health, and educational conditions in these affected neighborhoods. Fourth, you must address the failing criminal justice system and the failing sentencing guidelines currently in-place. Until you address these failing policies, these number will continue ebbing and flowing up and down. You need a system of stability so order can establish a foothold for the betterment of all lives concerned. Until that time, stay safe and stay home.
