At Least 9 Dead, 36 Wounded In Weekend Shootings « CBS Chicago
I've noticed the "elephant in the room" isn't being addressed here. Allow me.
It's drugs folks. Whenever you read, or hear stories of shootings such as this, reporters, and anchors use the code word "gang related". It's like they are afraid to utter, Chicago has a horrific drug trafficking problem. That's why the shootings over "turf" is happening. It's the cocaine, heroin, crack, and meth sales that are driving these shootings. The price of those poisons have plummeted. It's coming in these areas in droves, because of the lack of jobs.
Go drive in a Black or Brown area and count the number of young men just standing around on corners. Block after block, there they are. Oh yes, there are exceptions, but you would have to venture down certain side streets for a better understanding. There you have it folks. Drug trafficking is the big, fat, elephant in the room. Address that, and watch a lot of White money laundering bankers marching towards prison.
