I must admit, there are some very good ideas being presented. Yet I do suspect our former Mayor could have slipped in that "Privatization of the CTA" in there.
Boy that would be the biggest mistake this city could ever make. That old saying about "Those that do not learn from history..." plays a vital role here. A perfect example is our current parking meter fiasco, and the tax free concert that was recently held. They both reek of Daley and family involvement. Another suggestion, calling for an extra fee for garbage collection, informs me that this person doesn't pay property taxes. And if they do, they really should take a look at the bill when it comes out. Meaning, garbage collection is included in the property tax bill.
I do agree with cutting back on 50 alderman. New York, and California can manage, I think we can also. And last but never least, Alderman Burke, you still cannot justify to this day why you need our taxpayer funded officers protecting you from mythical angry Black men. Harold Washington is deceased, but your ugly bigotry is still prevalent. Put those "Man-Pants" on and stop fleecing the taxpayers of this city.
Oh, P.S. Yeah folks, legalize pot, and tax the crap out of it like tobacco and booze. We are talking billions in additional revenue. It's 2011 and counting, not 1936.
