The first link pretty much guarantees your future criminals. Back in the day a teacher could whip their ass for shit like this and the parents would be cool about it. Now, not so much. Discipline is key for raising children and that particular tool must be returned. I can nearly assure you our current violent situation would not be as dramatic as it seems now, if some adult would kick these kids in the ass when they get stupid. Dr. Spock fucked up a lot of parents by telling them to treat their kids like friends. Fuck that! Punish them when they fuck up. Talk to them when they don't understand something. Teach them right from wrong and make damn sure they know the price for fucking up. Are you still wondering why politicians and clergy don't give a fuck?
