It really doesn't surprise me that people are getting shot in neighborhoods that were generally thought of as safe. That just isn't the case anymore with surrounding states and their guns everywhere laws. The NRA is pushing, and paying off our elected representation into passing bills that will become law for mentally unstable people the right to bring guns across state lines. That's insane. You can't get on an airline if you are on the terrorist watch list, but you can still buy a gun. That's insane.
Assault weapons are banned for purchase in the city of Chicago, but not the entire state. Yet, you can skip right over into Indiana, downstate, and other surrounding states with weaker gun laws and buy them. That's insane. In this state of Illinois, they (politicians) are blowing the dust off a bill that's been sitting for over a year, that will ban assault weapons, body armor, and expanded capacity magazines for civilian use statewide. What in the fuck took them so long? That's insane.
