Astounding and horrific numbers but, this isn't an isolated case. This madness is happening in cities across the nation. And yet the sad part about this, in each of the neighborhoods this happens, the same economical and social horrors apply and even downstate.

The politicians and their wealthy backers strip education funding leaving children with sub-par schools. The employment outlook is beyond dismal. Our greedy governor even vetoed a mandatory minimum wage hike of 15 bucks an hour. That's is just telling the people that elected you just aren't worth a decent wage. So what kind of solution did the politicians and wealthy backers come up with? Flood those hard hit neighborhoods with drugs and increase sales taxes on the working poor. If you go out of the cities, the rest of the state is comprised of farmland and distribution centers. Occasionally you may come across a petrol plant or that dying breed called a factory. And you can bet those places don't pay workers 15 bucks and hour. If you are lucky, they may start you off at 8, 9, or 10 bucks. And guess what? That's still below the poverty line. Factor in food, shelter, clothing, transportation, and if you have children, double or triple that. Are you still wondering why?
