Illinois Supreme Court debates allowing 18-year-olds to be charg - FOX 32 News Chicago


If this is the case, you might as well fix the age requirements across the nation state by state. At 18 or less (given parents permission), you can join the military. Yet, in all states you can't buy a beer, unless you are 21. Should a juvenile be charged with murder, I get that. But what are they talking about here? Just misdemeanor possession of drugs, theft, vandalism, consent? The military has a Uniform Code of Military Justice. The United States should have a uniform code of civilian justice.

This will eliminate all confusion of the multitude of varying state laws such as, joining the military, buying booze, possession, theft, vandalism, and consent, and any other double standard varying states have. Yet, let's be clear, murder is still murder, unless a mental lack of capacity applies. The possibility this debate will spark a discussion of a uniform code of civilian justice could become revolutionary.
