Once you read the article, you suddenly realize none of the people are 30 years old. I guess it begs the question, who's supplying these weapons?
The oldest of the shooting victims (29) they list as in "critical condition". The rest, just teens, and twenty-somethings. What are the odds of gang affiliations across the board? That question alone, makes myself wonder about the background check system we currently have in-place. Guilt by association is basically the criteria law enforcement employes when placing gangs, or organized crime into categories. Just like any business, there is a ladder, chart, or graph that shows the leadership on down. So as the current law allows, you can be in a gang, having never committed a crime, and still have legal access to purchase weapons. Now we all know convicted felons are theoretically barred from obtaining weapons. Yet, from time to time, they slip through the cracks via the straw buyer. But, the ones that haven't a paper trail, keep buying.
That's right folks, and there isn't a damn thing that can be done about it. So now you know how they get, and are supplied, weapons.
