Honestly, if the guy was armed or not, that's no way for the people to display their frustration. It's no secret the police have zero respect in Black and Brown neighborhoods because of distrust. The majority of police don't interact with the people they serve. They don't talk with you, they only order you around and that's where the problem is. In my interactions with them, I get that feeling that whatever I say is always viewed with skepticism, even when the facts/proof is right in their faces.
With that being said, that guy should have just stopped doing whatever it was he was doing. If he had a gun on him, let them have it and suffer the consequences. If he didn't have a gun on him, he should have allowed them to search and find out otherwise. Doing such, relieves the skepticism and puts the burden of proof in their face.
