Meanwhile, our politicians, clergy, and silent citizens continue ignoring the carnage. As an African-American male in any urban city, I do have options. I don't have a criminal record so, I can purchase a firearm legally. I can also apply for either an open or concealed carry permit. The only problem with such a scenario, I'm in the city and Black. The cops would shoot first and never ask a question. That's fucked up isn't it?
I can legally purchase a weapon and permit for safety in the home and on the streets. But, the biggest fear isn't with the criminals, they're dumb. It's the cops shoot first reaction. They can easily make up a story about the body cam not working, and there you would have another innocent, law-abiding, African-American male, wounded or dead. That's fucked up isn't it?
