Durbin, Kirk Want Top Prosecutor Nominee To ‘Crush’ Street Gangs « CBS Chicago


Really? Wow! You know folks, I just hate being "That Guy", but come on Senators, what's up with this tough talk? Those of us that have a fair understanding of how the system works, have an idea that the "Fed's" must take over, or have local, and state prosecutors forward such cases too them. Here's the problem. Tough talk isn't going to get it done. Reformation of the sentencing guidelines will.

Here's an example of what I'm speaking of. Remember that lower, then life, dirtball that murdered a 6 month old baby? How many felony convictions did he have prior? Why was this less then human scum, allowed back out? You see where I'm going?

Our spineless State legislature came up with a guns for everyone bill. How does that come close to addressing why the system lets vicious animals back out in public? It doesn't. Maybe you should have the new guy start downstate. After-all, somebody, or entity is paying them off.

Yeah, tough talk is one thing. But we all know actions always speak louder than any word. So start with reforming the sentencing guidelines. And this time, make sure it includes "Straw-Buyers."
