3 dead, 22 wounded in weekend shootings across Chicago - Chicago Sun-Times


There is a slogan on the airwaves, it goes something like this, "Put down the guns." A much better one would be informing politicians, watch out come November.

Well folks, that isn't enough. We need our city, and state legislative body to get off their ass, and pass stronger gun, and sentencing laws like other states. Those states that did, are not being sued. So what's wrong with our collective legislative body? Why do they consistently pass unconstitutional legislation when it comes to guns? Many of these people have law degrees. Did they just buy them? Why are they so incompetent when dealing with this one issue?

The right wing, race-baiting, lobbyist of ALEC write unconstitutional legislation in GOP controlled states all the time, and eventually gets smacked down by the courts, just like this state. Why do our legislators copy them, and not the sane states with effective gun laws? Well, here's our problem. We march, and don't get in these politicians faces, and tell them we'll field a candidate that will do the right thing. Thanks to the Corporate Supreme Court, and that fucked up Citizens United decision, we can field candidates that will get the job done.

So keep telling them to "Put Down The Guns.", but also tell those politicians watch out come November.
