Overall Chicago Crime Down In May, Shootings Increase « CBS Chicago
Every time I see such a headline, I become pissed. This is a classic example of what we call turd polishing. Overall crime is down? How can that possibly be when shootings increase? Are they telling us criminals rather shoot people instead of stealing? Criminals rather shoot people instead of selling drugs? Do you see how stupid this headline is? Is this supposed to make me feel better? Oh! I guess I don't have to worry about getting robbed, but my odds of getting a bullet in my body have increased. It's still a fucking crime!
