Madigan: Workers’ comp system ‘ought to be changed’ - Chicago Sun-Times
Wait a second. Since when did any "worker" get any compensation for an injury not directly related to their employment?
This little sentence in the article struck me as very unusual: "Quinn’s plan could save businesses around $500 million, but the major stalemate is over a requirement that a worker could not be compensated for an injury not directly related to the job."
Last time I checked, no worker ever received compensation for an injury that was not "JOB RELATED". When did that little gem slip into law? And whomever slipped it in should be voted out, or fired.
