'Dead zone' in Chicago sees 2 fatal shootings in a week -- chicagotribune.com


Well if you pick up a newspaper, or click on the infamous "Boob-Tube", everyone is talking about the end of Oprah. She's ending her Tv show, and that calls for wall-too-wall coverage in video and print. Yet buried underneath all this glamorous, glowing coverage, life continues for those dealing with the horrendous killings, that gangs commit.

Who knows how many "Dead Zones" are in Chicago, and across the nation. This one in particular caught the attention of the Tribune, because of the deadly sequence of events that led to this latest killing. Here you have a child, attempting to get out of  such horrible conditions, yet runs into brick wall after brick wall because of "poor grades", or any other cheap excuse not to save him. Now, he's dead.

It's a wake-up call for all "Dead Zones" in Chicago, and across the nation. Once you are finished, Oprah's still leaving, and gangs will continue their horrendous killings.
