'No braids on the white boy;' denied entrance into club :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Mary Mitchell
Boy that is messed up when the shoe is on the proverbial other foot isn't it? The crazy part is that it was a person of Indian origin, (not Native American) that refused entry.
I guess the lesson here folks, is that bigotry knows no color. It's just stupid. And we all know, that fixing stupid is a difficult job.

Thanks MSNBC. Now the criminals will gain more knowledge on how to beat the system. Just as terrorist watch your channel and the others, to glean information. Now these low-life scumbags will do the same.
They will find out who's the snitch, and do the unthinkable to their family members. No, I haven't seen your show yet, but I'm certain you will screw it up by showing a face, or give a name. But all in all, I'm sure it will be an illuminating experience for all that do watch.
Oh, and while your at it, make sure you show it to Republican Congressman Pete Hoekstra. We can all bet he'll spill more National Secrets to both terrorist and local criminals.

Some old tricks never die. How often have we seen a skinny person enter a grocery store, and suddenly leave looking as if they ate the entire store? In this age of "instant technology", thieves should know better. But, it appears they still cannot pull themselves out of the stone age, and realize "Big Brother" is watching all of us. Hell try farting in a crowded elevator. That will be on You-tube in an instant.
Oh well, Happy New Year.

I find it most ironic, that a person that violates the law blames the Federal government for bringing them to the point of taking hostages. Here you have a classic "Nitwit", claiming "they (The Government) want to take away our guns", and this idiot shoots his ex-wife, and molest children.
People of this low character have no rights to guns. They make law-abiding citizens that own guns, fall under a stigmatic illusion of lunacy.

Judge says street gangs more dangerous than Gitmo detainees :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Nation
Boy, talk about the understatement of the decade. The republican party should heed this advice from the judge. According to them, they are the "party of law and order", yet we have not heard a peep out of them on the rampant violence street gangs present to communities all around the country.
Yes folks, we have our own "home-grown terrorist" running around on our streets everyday and night. They sell drugs on our corners, shoot and kill the innocent, and yet not one word from the republican party on how to combat this problem. All they can do is exactly what they are doing now. Nothing.
Oh well, what else can you expect from the party of No? Maybe it's because this terrorist problem is only happening in "Minority Communities"? That must be the answer. We all know how the republicans are against community organizers. We also know how much they disdain socialism, and communism, yet Glenn Beck wants us to be more like China. Maybe they will do something when the street gang terrorist come to their side of town? Remember when their kids got hooked on "Crack"? It became an epidemic then, and they rushed in one of the most controversial sentencing laws in modern times. You remember. According to them, it was okay to do powder cocaine, but if you were caught with Crack, lookout, an automatic prison sentence.
Thank you Judge for reminding these dummies what's really wrong in this country.

State GOP leader: Thomson prison worth a lot more than gov's price tag :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Politics
Illinois politics at its worst. Since the republican party has no clue on how to help people obtain jobs, and have affordable health care, all they can do is use their favorite tool, extortion. The only idea they have ever had was to enrich the already wealthy of this country, and let the lower, and middle class die a slow death.
They knew that most of the states around the country would benefit from shipping these scumbags off to "Super-Max" prisons. Yet, they did what they do best. Use fear, and the old "not in my backyard" tactics. They failed. Filling these prisons with these blood-lusting cowards, brings employment to these states. Now they want to use extortion tactics, too squeeze more money out of the Federal system, that they tell people, they hate so much.
One must be a very, very low scumbag of little self-esteem to attempt such a punk-ass move of this nature. The press (print and media) needs to ask this jack-hole what he's done lately to bring jobs back to this state? Enough of this "party of no", and if no doesn't work, let's strong arm the Federal government. The same federal government they "all of a sudden" hate so much. They instructed elected officials of their party to reject "Stimulus Funds" to help their states. That didn't work, because it helps the people of those states. If all they want is a return to bread and soup lines, like back during the depression, we'll just elect another republican. They only lookout for the wealthy after-all, and we all see what that did to this country.
Today, we have people in office trying to fix this near-collapse, and yet they (Republicans) refuse any assistance. It makes you wonder what would happen if a tornado hit a "Tea-Party" stronghold? What would they say then? Keep your government hands of my shattered home? I don't want your help? Good Luck with that one.

Wow king Daley just "appointed" himself Mayor of Thomson. He might as well, since he can't do anything right here in Chicago.
When you think about it, that's not such a bad idea for Chicago. Let's pack him, and his cronies up and ship them all off to Thomson. Let them go there and sell off bits and pieces of that towns government. Hell, we'll even throw in our "frozen meters".
Dear King Daley. Many people would think it is up to the "Elected Officials" of Thomson to make that determination. Not You. So how about a nice cup of STFU? Worry about the mess you created here first, before you go sticking nose in other communities business.
The only reason you threw your worthless two-cents in, is because you are trying to figure out a way of grabbing some Federal Dollars.

Funny how the mayor sold us out with "Boxes" that haven't been tested to withstand our brutal weather. Oh well, what can any of us do about our sell-the-people-out-Mayor?
Well for starters, we can just vote him out, or wait for the federal government's Justice department to finally send down subpoenas, or indictments for him and his cronies. And then again, we can generate some petition to force a resignation out of this "accept no responsibility" Mayor.
That my friends is one example of "fixing stupid". Thanks for the "Summer Weather Boxes" Mr. Mayor.

We have been warned, that the "fixing stupid games" has begun. Here, we have another incident that required a little brain-power, yet the "stupid-cell" kicked in.
The officer in question could have easily over-powered the old fart, yet chose to zap the geezer, for who knows, maybe a chuckle? Not that there is many Republicans in Chicago, but just a thought.Maybe if there were actual leaders in Chicago and the CPS,there would be no need for "elite" schools. No matter the party. The kids should be first, not politics. Not race.Every school should be "elite".

Senate report: Bin Laden was 'within our grasp' :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Politics
Really? Tell us something we don't know. But as things go, you will always hear from those that say, "hey don't blame us", or I'm sorry.
I remember a long time ago, about the death of accountability. If you missed it, accountability died about eight years ago. It was a slow and painful death that many of us tried to stop. But for some strange reason, those that could have helped, refused. Today, they don't even want you to give accountability a decent burial. The only way that burial can be achieved, is through the impeachment of those responsible for accountability's death.
But there will be those that say, stop digging into the past, and look forward. Yet I ask, how can we ever learn of the mistakes of the past, so as to never repeat them again? It's like telling a child that some object is hot. The child doesn't believe you, and touches it. Bingo, it is hot. They never do it again. We have to impeach these people, so that mistakes of such magnitude never happen again. Accountability must be resuscitated.
I'm sorry, and don't blame us, isn't going to cut it anymore.

Thieves swipe $70,000 from ATM :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State
Two problems in an attempt at fixing stupid. First, if these bozo's were caught on surveillance cameras installing their device, why did the bank let them steal $70 grand, and walk away? The second, and most obvious attempt at fixing stupid, why didn't these mentally-challenged criminals, disable the camera recording them? Whoever was, or perhaps still is, in-charge of monitoring the surveillance footage, is also a mystery. But then again, knowing a bank like Chase, they probably didn't have anyone monitoring the footage, because it would hurt their "Bottom-Line".
Once you saw something suspicious on that footage, you set the trap. Yet, these clowns at Chase, let them grab the cash and walk away. The bottom line folks, Chase Sucks. Get your money out of that greedy bank, all over the country. Start using local banks that didn't destroy families with shady mortgage practices.
Yep, you can't fix stupid.

It's the most wonderful time of the year. Happy holidays everyone. Now don't be shocked at my callousness. This is historically the time of year when people just snap. The country is in a financial mess because of the greed merchants, yet people are jamming their collective out of shape bodies into mass merchandisers, buying crap. This is the time of year to really save money, yet we seem compelled to spend beyond our means.
Go on, take a guess why this snot-nosed brat tried to kill his mother? I'm betting she denied him something because his lazy ass refuses to get a job. So what does this dimwit do? You got it. Where's the dad in all this? Will they let him back home after time is served? Why wasn't he charged with "attempted murder"?
Oh well, Happy Holidays.

WTF. Well folks get ready for the nut-jobs, and don't be surprised if Beck and Limbaugh call these morons "winners". I have to admit, this story just speaks volumes of strange. What's a Muslim doing in a bar? Isn't booze prohibited? And these two low-brow dimwits deemed it necessary to attack the guy and brag about it? Under a jail, is a way over-used term for such stupidity.
Yet a fictional character said it best, "Stupid is, as Stupid Does".

Really? Is this supposed to shock us? The "real people" know where the money went. In all honesty, all anyone had to do was just look at the current unemployment numbers. The money went to our collective political cronies fund. Look at what Mayor Daley did with his share. Oh sorry, no one knows what he did with his cut.
Anyway, a pitchfork party seems like a better idea, if this was the 18th century, but with all the money just enriching the rich, and not the people pounding the pavement looking for work, what else can you say but, WTF.

Well if doesn't make you wonder about parenting skills, I have no idea. Is this what family life has come too? Parents give their kids all the "space" in the world, just to keep them(kids), from bothering them(parents)?
With all this "space", the kid is free to rummage the internet for porn, and messages to commit violent acts against others. What's the point of having "parental controls", when the parent refuses to use them? Hello "Facebook". One would think with all the money you are making, hiring a few more "real humans" would be a good thing to prevent such postings on your website? And by the way, advocating violence is a crime, last time I checked.
Oh well, things of this nature happen when parents just want their kids to be their "friends". Wake-up adults. They are your kids, not your friends.

Boy technology sure knows how to bite the "Big Guys" in the behind. In all honesty, technology these days, is similar to a growing child. They continue growing and learning at such a pace, the old dinosaurs (old technology), just can't keep pace.
Eventually, movies will soon come straight too Americans homes via the internet. It's just a matter of time. Movie theaters are in a fight against extinction, just like the old "Drive-In theaters of yesteryear. Remember those? Well if you do, you are old. If you own a Playstation 3 console, you don't need to go out and rent movies anymore. This is the first step in the extinction of the movie theaters.
There will be those that will do anything in their power to prevent this extinction, but it will happen. And the answer to the articles question, is an emphatic yes, for now. Yet somewhere, someone will tap into this revenue generating pool of "watching movies online". After all, computers are getting faster, hard drives are getting bigger for more storage space, and technology will continue to evolve.

Well if you pick up a newspaper, or click on the infamous "Boob-Tube", everyone is talking about the end of Oprah. She's ending her Tv show, and that calls for wall-too-wall coverage in video and print. Yet buried underneath all this glamorous, glowing coverage, life continues for those dealing with the horrendous killings, that gangs commit.
Who knows how many "Dead Zones" are in Chicago, and across the nation. This one in particular caught the attention of the Tribune, because of the deadly sequence of events that led to this latest killing. Here you have a child, attempting to get out of such horrible conditions, yet runs into brick wall after brick wall because of "poor grades", or any other cheap excuse not to save him. Now, he's dead.
Should you decide to click the link, and read the article in its entirety, pay close attention to what the people that still live there have too say. It's a wake-up call for all "Dead Zones" in Chicago, and across the nation. Once you are finished, Oprah's still leaving, and gangs will continue their horrendous killings.

Well the Good news is, at least they are not the Detroit Loins. Although I do agree the Bears are really stinking up Soldier Field, with no offense, and defense, I still give them a little bit of credit for trying.
From the lounge chair perspective, that killer instinct seems to be missing, especially on offense. Gone are the days of running/pounding their opponents into the ground with a far superior running game. It appears they just threw that out the window. Who knows, maybe one day they will get back to the basics of playing hard-nosed football. Until then, keep drinking, and pulling out your hair people.

This kid is 15, goes to school, and doesn't understand the consequences of bad behavior? Unless there is a mental impairment, like autism, or attention deficit disorder, maybe a good pounding after the police left, might prove a better deterrent. At least then he would have a case for calling for help.
What a wimp for a 15 year old. Hell he should have been ecstatic over his folks taking away such a crappy game system. I would have told them to exchange it for the Playstation 3 once they see an improvement in grades. But to call the cops for that crappy system? You might as well file that in the dumber than a bag of hammers cabinet.

State has good shot at Gitmo inmates: officials :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime
For the love of Pete, just do it. What is so horrible about people getting jobs? I'm so sick of those "not in my backyard" bird-brains always putting their 2 cents in. These are the same people that scream "don't touch my medicare" when not one person said they would.
They will be the ones standing around with their hands in their pockets as the rest of the town runs to apply for all the jobs that will open up. Anyone with a brain knows they will not drop all detainees in one spot. You just have too many States with "Brand New" empty prisons sitting around this country for that to happen. So for all this "Fake Opposition" coming from the republican party, shut the hell up.
Come up with a better solution. Oh wait, I'm sorry you can't. You're just mad some people actually used their brains, and know how to help people. As far as I'm concerned, you can take your "fear-mongering ways" and stick it. We saw you stand idly by as your economic plan of voodoo exploded in your face. If you can't come up with some solutions, just sit in a corner and suck your thumb. If you haven't noticed, two criminals escaped from a Peoria jail, and the country hasn't fallen apart. Also, don't use O'Hare as an excuse either. The Mayor and his flunky council has already forked over $16 million from our cash-strapped city to put in new runways there. Guess what that means? Jobs.
If you don't believe me, just go to the city's career web site. If your lucky, you might see less than 10 jobs on there. Once the demolition of Bensenville begins (not the entire town, but keep your fingers crossed, joking), you will see more.

Leasing water system could be a risky move for Chicago -- chicagotribune.com
Okay, if this happens without our Mayor reading, and seeing what happened to other city's, suburbs, towns, and villages went through, we are in big trouble.
That old saying comes to mind of "those that do not learn from history" applies here. You have people running around saying "government-run institutions are socialism", but what do you call greedy corporations? The same people that call for a "Free-Market System" never admit this concept is a very bad idea for consumers. Mayor Daley should take heed of what happened to other towns when they thought "privatization" was a good idea. Hell, he can even look at his disastrous experiments with this concept when he destroyed "parking as we know it".
Sure this is a "trail-balloon". You would want feedback on such idiotic ideas of this magnitude. Let me pull out my crystal ball and tell everyone what would happen if he went through with this. Water Bills will skyrocket. There, enough said. Even though I could go on and on about how they (private companies) will even cut back on treating the water. Other than that, if the Mayor thinks this will help a cash-strapped city, well folks, start digging wells.

Durbin, Quinn see economic boon :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Nation
A question for all republicans that are using the fear-mongering tactic. What does Rudy Giuliani (New York) know about Illinois? Answer: Not a Damn Thing. Mark Kirk, running on the republican side for the Presidents old Senate seat has also voiced his opposition to helping create jobs in his own State. What does he know about Illinois? Answer: Not a Damn Thing. And for all the rest of the "Out-Of-Town" mouth-breathers, shut the hell up.
A near-empty prison, in an economically depressed area needs job growth. Do you none-math understanding republicans understand that? 2,000 direct jobs at the facility. Another 1,000 potential jobs outside the facility. The same can be said for other States in similar situations. Yet for as far as the eye can see, we have a bunch of republicans telling the people of the United States, sorry, you are on your own when it comes to job creation, or trying to stop foreclosure on your home. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting really sick of people that can't give me one good alternative for anything. The next press conference they give, they should just stand there and say no for a half an hour. After all, that's all they are saying for everything. They just stick a few more words in to drag out the event.
If just say No is the best you have, as opposed to coming up with better solutions, shut the hell up. How much louder do people have to yell in your deaf ears, jobs dummy, jobs? What part of "economic boom" you don't understand? The best you can come up with is the "having dangerous people on U.S. soil argument"? What, and who in the hell do you think are in prisons anyway? And by the way, why do you think they are called prisons?
If the people of Thomson let this opportunity of revitalization pass by out of shear ignorance, and fear-mongering, they deserve to have that place turn into a "Ghost-Town". Don't let a bunch of "we have no plan but say no to everything" ruin your chance of helping yourselves. Think people. Don't let these morons destroy your town. Remember, they DON'T live THERE. You do, and you know how to help it.

Illinois prison in running to house Gitmo detainees :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Nation
Now this sounds like a very good idea. But as we all have grown accustom to republican opposition to everything the President says and does, it's no surprise they are also opposed to job creation.
Here we have a climate to generate some jobs in this depressed State, and these "just say no too everything butt-clowns, continue to stand in the way. It would be nice if they ever got off their fat, lazy behinds and asked the people living there, if they would like to see jobs come to their community. But all they can do, is play on people's fears.
Let me ask you. How many people have escaped from a "Maximum Security Facility" recently? How many murder's are currently locked-up in a "Maximum Security Facility"? And for the record, how many people live near an "Over-crowded Maximum Security Facility"? I haven't heard any complaints, have you? But here we have a bunch of do-nothing, just say no, brain-dead, elected bums, against any, and everything this administration comes up with.
This is simple people. This move helps the State, and people looking for employment. This attempt has nothing but improvement written all over it, for the State, the city, village, county, and people in the area.
So to the "Party of NO", shut the hell up, stay out of the way of progress, and continue with your rock carving's, as we the people continue evolving. What a bunch of knuckle-dragging Neanderthals.

Well people have to do something just to keep those idle hands busy. It's such a shame the study didn't go far enough and ask, what else do you smoke?
I'll bet anything marijuana smoking is on the increase also. Face it, with jobs being the number one issue, people will seek out habits, and vices because they are a little bit under stress. The same holds true with alcohol consumption. During bad time's, people seek relief, or anything to escape the reality of the moment. For some, it keeps them sane. For others, they just give up, and wish to remain under the influence of something.
If there is another round of "stimulus", those funds need, and should go directly to job creation. All this talk about a "new green economy" must bear fruit. In other words; fix the streets and highways, use those abandoned factories to begin the manufacturing of wind, solar, and any other "green" components needed to put people back too work. After all, Wall Street got its "bailout", now it's the "real people's" turn. If you can help them, you sure as hell better help us on the front-lines.
And a final note to the republican party. You better get on board and come up with some solutions, besides saying "No" all the time. "Just say No" didn't work on your so-called drug war, and it sure as hell isn't going to work when it comes to creating jobs. And don't give me that bull on building more "Nuclear Power Plants". How many high school kids are out there, that can't get into college have a degree in nuclear physics? None you douche-bags. For those kids to become successful, they need those good old "nose-to-the-grindstone" jobs that involve infrastructure repair, and maintenance. Give those idle hands something else to do besides smoke.

Chicago Cubs must pursue Curtis Granderson -- chicagotribune.com
Chicago Cubs must pursue Curtis Granderson -- chicagotribune.com
Enough of politics, let's talk baseball. Now should General Manager Hendry pursue Curtis Granderson, the White Sox will certainly stand a "snowballs chance in hell" of reaching another run for the World Series. There is no-way, shape, or form, the Tigers will deal this ball player to the Sox. Let's face it, they suck, and are divisional rivals.
Now if the Cubs pull this off, without trading Carlos Marmol, there just may be some exciting times at Wrigley Field next year. Personally, if I were the owner, I'd tell my General Manager to get this player. This kid can play.

Ah what the hell Governor. Please don't tell me and the rest of the people here that you are actually trying to do something many politicians are incapable of. That of course is, govern.
We have become so use to getting the short end of the stick, even with Mayor "stick-em-good-on-property-taxes" Daley. Now all of a sudden you want to spare us from paying more to ride the biggest polluters, next to commercial trucks the city and suburbs have to offer? Have you ever drove behind a bus lately Governor Quinn?
Come on don't let all of us down. Most of us were ready, and willing to fork over a straight 5 buck increase just to get this Mayor off, I should say, out of our pockets, until his next gouge the taxpayer scam. Having a Governor attempting to govern is very strange for this city, and state. Oh well, good luck with that.

911 official resigns over blunder that cost $2 mil. :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall
Well that's all fine, but what about the money Mr. Mayor? As if making a boat-load of money on the taxpayer's dime wasn't enough for this creep, he sticks us with another bill for two million.
I truly hope this robber isn't getting a pension, or any type of compensation for leaving this "too much money for a do nothing job" to begin with. Here's an idea Mr. Mayor. Freeze his assets at his bank.
We want all of our money back.
P.S. Stop hiring crooks. Oh wait, that's the only people you really know.

Davis pulls out of County Board President's race :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Politics
Well this decision was certainly the ultimate no-brainer.
Let me see. Do I want to run for a county seat that sucks, and may soon find swarmed with federal agents taking stacks of files? So much for the "paper reduction act". Or do I want to sit on one of the most "powerful committees" the federal government has to offer, with seniority?
Like most people with a glimmer of intelligence, the latter sounds so much better. Why on earth would anyone want to become County Board President? They would not be able to get the county running in a responsible fashion for a couple of years, because of all the "House-Cleaning" involved. Imagine all that time spent in court testifying against the chumps that have wrecked havoc, and swiped millions of dollars.
Yeah sitting on a federal committee is way much sweeter than having to deal with a major headache like County Board President. I hope whoever wins has the time for all those court appearances.
A no-brainer indeed.

The 39 House Democrats who Voted Against Their Party's Health Care Bill -- Politics Daily
The 39 House Democrats who Voted Against Their Party's Health Care Bill -- Politics Daily
I wonder what were they thinking? Maybe these 39 are just ready to call politics quits. Maybe they voted against it because other democrats caved and went to the far-wing-nut-right, and decided it's best to tell adult women what to do with their bodies, even in the case of rape.
I say, they better have a good reason for voting against this historic bill. That old saying of "Hell have no Fury, Like a Woman's Scorn" is the ultimate payback. Anyway, it's up to the Senate now to merge the house version with their own, and put it on the Presidents desk for signing. Talk about the ultimate Christmas gift, health care for all. It is a "small step", but one that should have been taken under President Theodore Roosevelt.

Police chief worries about mass retirement of officers -- chicagotribune.com
Police chief worries about mass retirement of officers -- chicagotribune.com
Well they should be worried. Even as I write this, there are douche-bags on the next block of Parkside selling dope, right down the alley of a police department district. The ultimate kicker, is that these dopes stand right in the alley, looking for when the police go about their daily patrols.
When they see a patrol car, or an unmarked, they run like roaches when the lights come on. My first thought, was can you be any stupider? Yet these dummies do this everyday, and night. In this age of "Big brother Watching" with cameras posted nearly on every major intersection, these clowns take it upon themselves to risk jail time, selling garbage just down the street from a police department.
Times must really be bad, if you have to go to such lengths. So worry away Superintendent, maybe one day our Mayor will stop wasting taxpayer money on his little frivolous pet projects, and finally shift the money where it is truly needed. But I guess we (the voters) must get a new mayor first.

Naperville businessman charged with bribing 'city agent' :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Politics
I guess I can file this story under the infamous WTF banner.
This is the alderman from, and supposed too, represent the Austin district, yet why on earth would he seek a seat on the "Aviation Committee"? Oh damn that's right, more pension money right? You can bet he's on there to prevent planes from flying over Austin residents homes, or apartments, shaking them into oblivion right? And besides, Austin is like 15 miles away from O'Hare Airport, give or take.
This "Naperville businessman" has to be ranked as one of the dumbest "alleged" criminals around. Seeking out an alderman that doesn't even live near the airport, should have been a heads up, especially if your looking to get a "deal" on location spots for "restaurants".
And besides, who in their right mind would want to eat near an airport with all that jet fuel soaked into their food?
WTF dummy?

Three shot trying to detain South Shore burglary suspect :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime
There's nothing wrong with preventing crime, but in this situation, calling the police first, is the best scenario as opposed to becoming a vigilante. The examiner's employee, according to reports didn't live in the building, but observed these individuals in the lobby.
Instead of alerting police of suspicious activity, this person takes it upon his-self to investigate, and inquire of the nature of the suspect's business in the building. Not a very bright move considering our Mayor has a handgun ban for law-abiding citizens. Yet criminals have access to guns, at the drop of a hat.
I guess my point about this unfortunate incident is simple. Call the police if you see any suspicious behavior. Never take matters into your own hands. After all, it's the criminals that have the guns, we don't.

Deals keep sewage boss flush :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: The Watchdogs
The hits just keep on rolling, don't they? If you are pulling in 80 grand a year, part-time, but make more money with companies doing work for the government, would it not be nice, or fair to just only take a 1 dollar per year salary from department of the city you work for?
Here's another question. Does this individual receive a pension along with that part-time city job? Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with making money. But a little common sense has some role here.
Mr. Mayor, this has been going on for over 10 years, and yet you fail to address this salary for part-time work in your budget slashing efforts. What is so wrong with asking this person to take a pay cut, when you knew what he was pulling in from his companies? Instead you hit the workers of this city that do "Real Work". How many others are there that have a similar "hook-ups" Mr. Mayor? Yet here you are getting "pissed" at State legislatures for giving seniors a "free-ride".
Talk about a "free-ride" WTF

Lawmakers' failure to end free rides angers Daley :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Transportation
This article just speaks of hilarity in the future for King Daley. When this guy is voted out of office, and burns through his ill-gotten pension, he'll be the first screaming for a "free-ride". I take it he is still setting his biological clock back too when he was still 20 years old.
Newsflash Mayor, you are not a young man anymore, and your days of possibly riding a bus, may soon become a reality. Why do you hate seniors so much Mr. Mayor? Hell it if wasn't for seniors, you would not be here. They have paid their dues buddy, so cut them some slack. And by the way, what do you, and the honchos at CTA, and RTA do with all that money you get from advertising on those buses and trains?
Stop picking on seniors. They are the ones that busted their behinds, so their children would not have to go through the crap you are trying to pull. How much money do you need Mr. Mayor? Wasn't the rape job on the property taxes enough? The selling of the Skyway? The selling of Parking Meters? It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle Mr. Mayor, than for a rich man to gain entry into heaven. Haven't you learned anything? Or is seeing it happen, is what will wake you up?
Getting mad at lawmakers because they know what's right is really petty Mr. Mayor. Well sometimes they know what's right.

Wow, just reading the article, and looking at who got hit the hardest, lets one know that rape cares not for gender.
It's such a shame that those in distressed communities bear the brunt of this strong-armed robbery. Those that do have the means too endure this crime, is understandable. Yet those that don't, or better still can't, what will happen? Surely the Clerks office should come to some form of compromise? At the very least, let those that truly are struggling, pay down over time.
Alas, that truly is the right thing for this office to do. Yet I fear it just makes too much sense, so they will never do, or suggest it.

What else can you say besides WTF? Yet the city council wants forced days off, and no pay raises.
Maybe they can use the money from the property tax fiasco for hiring more officers? After all, the majority of poor, lower, and middle-class communities are the ones hit hardest by crime.
The really sad part about this article, the police department hasn't been fully staffed for several decades. Hell, even back in 1984 when I applied.

Council may reject any large pay hikes for cops: aldermen :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall
Christ sake. You have to give it up for these bozo aldermen/women. The minute something goes down in the area they represent, they scream for MORE police.
Now these double pension holding jerks, don't want to pay these same police, the pay they deserve, as they try to protect the people that voted for these crooks sitting downtown. Talk about hypocrisy.
These pimps sit back and vote themselves a pay raise whenever they feel like it. They get a pension for being an aldermen/women, and another pension for sitting on various boards, or commissions. Yet when it comes to public safety, sorry no money for you. Boy if they reject a pay raise for these men and women, don't be surprised by a major outbreak of "Blue-Flu". Or better yet, what if those that voted for rejection, needed police assistance?
Can't you just imagine what that call for help might sound like? Hi this is alderman double-pension. I have some gangbangers sitting on my stairs, can you send the police by and move them? (Dispatcher): We are sorry, but we don't have any officers available, because you voted for more "forced-days-off, and no pay raise. Have a nice day.

Well, I guess it's time to move. Talk about screwing over people where it hurts the most.
The quote says it all.
"They're trying to build the neighborhood back up, but if property taxes are going to go up 46 percent, a lot of the older folks aren't going to be able to pay that," said West Garfield Park's Matt O'Brien, 52, who works as a Dominick's grocery store cashier.
"The problem is, we're going to get taxed out of our properties," said his neighbor Kate Lane. "'Cause this is the best part of town. We've got the Eisenhower ... the Congress 'L,' the Douglas 'L,' we're getting taxed out for the rich folks and we poor folks are going to have to find somewhere to go."

Hotel owner tells Hispanic workers to change names :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Nation
Oh for the love of God. You can definitely throw this story in the WTF file. One would think it would be a very good idea to at least, get to know the people you have in your employ first. One would also think a family member might suggest that it's a hotel, not a country you're re-building. Asking a person to change their name, because you can't pronounce it, is beyond stupid.
I had a Sargent once ask me how do I spell my last name, even though it was printed in plain English on the right side of my clothing. Again, beyond stupid. You may expect a person of my character to use some very blunt, and derogatory language after an encounter like that too. Well not too derogatory, maybe something more inflammatory like dumb-ass.
So the next time you take over a business, take the time to get familiar with the people and employee's. And also think of it as a business only, not an experiment in nation building. Keep it simple, never beyond stupid. Dumb-ass.

Even former champ Ernie Terrell doesn't feel safe in Roseland :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Boxing/UFC/MMA
Well folks this is what happens in any "war zone", anywhere in the world. The innocent bystanders, the residents, and all the other people that spent years watching the place they call home, deteriorate into a war zone.
Those who have the means, are able to get out. Those that don't, just pray for an end to the senseless violence. It truly is a shame that certain pockets of city neighborhoods have been slightly turned into combat zones because certain parents have given up on their children. These hooligans have no respect for anything but death, mayhem, and debauchery. Hell, they can't even wear a pair of pants correctly.
So what do you do? Turn these certain pockets of neighborhoods into police states? Swoop in and grab these kids off the streets, and stoop to their level by beating them into submission? Or do we sit back and watch them just kill one another, till they are no more? If these kids refuse to continue getting an education, maybe we should consider reinstating "The Draft"? It is an alternative idea for those that stand before a judge in either a juvenile, or adult criminal hearing or trial. In essence, let's give them a choice. Spend the rest of their lives behind prison bars, with no future, or become something of yourself?
The reason these kids "fear" nothing is understandable. They know for a fact, our justice system will soon let them out, back on the streets. Let's take that certainty away from them, for good. Doing such, will give the innocent bystanders, the residents, and all the other people, the ability of never seeing their place they call home, deteriorate into a war zone ever again.
Five Chicago assets that could be sold off next :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall
Well there you go, start with City Hall, after all, the politicians there are bought and paid for anyway. I saw an article yesterday, where the city is scrapping a "Blue Bin" (recycling container) pick-up service. That struck me as a WTF moment. I haven't seen any "Blue Bins" in my neighborhood. For that matter, I haven't seen any, in other neighborhoods on those few occasions when I drive around (disability limits driving). That must have happened under one of those "Closed-Door Meetings" the Mayor has with his Alderman/women.
My suggestion for the Mayor, should he decide on what service he can sell next. His job. Oh wait, he already did that. Damn it. Okay, how about the Police department? He can sell that to the Department of Defense. After all, it's a war zone here in the city with kids getting shot left and right. Besides, this way the Police will know for sure they will get the pay raises they deserve. He could also sell the 911 dispatch center to the Department of Defense. Doing such will ensure it is fully staffed with professionals who also will know they have job security.
Hell, sell it all to the Federal Government. This Mayor sure can't run a city. Yeah, sell it all, so people will have jobs that they know will never have too deal with "Forced Layoffs", while all the honchos get paid regardless of whether they attempt to scam Motorola, fail to respond to an officer's call for help, and let private contractors use public fire hydrants, and contaminate the water.

Smokers help cops snuff out three criminals in South Loop :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime
Well this story is definitely a major WTF. All you non-smokers out there, we, the smokers of America, still serve a purpose. Since you kicked us outside, we get to see dummies in action, and help police reduce crime. Meanwhile, you non-smokers are forever chained to your desk, or whatever your occupation requires, watching your other co-worker pick their nose, or scratch their butts.
Ah fresh air, a cigarette, and fighting crime. You just can't beat that.

Aldermen told details of Daley's raid on reserves :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall
Okay, yesterday we already knew what he (The Mayor) was up too. All anyone had to do was pick up a paper. So let me get this straight, after reading about the cash grab, he holds a "closed-door meeting" with aldermen/women, informing them on what? How much is their take?
He sold the "Skyway", sold the "Parking Meters", destroyed a small airport, put a giant metallic bean in the middle of a park, and now, a flat field on the south side of town, that he refuses to let giant super centers build on too create jobs.
WTF.

Layoff notices for bus drivers, other CTA workers :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Transportation
Layoff notices for bus drivers, other CTA workers :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Transportation
Boy I have too hand it to this city. They really make one decide on purchasing a bicycle, or just start walking. The Chicago Transit Authority, and the Regional Transit Authority (CTA/RTA), wants to cut service, layoff workers, or make them mimic Mayor Daley's approach of forced days off, just to cover their butts for squandering taxpayer money.
Once again I ask, where or how much money do these two rake in from all that advertising splattered all over, and inside buses, and trains? Does the Inspector General have any audit power too take a peek? Now surely the "Honcho's" at these two public services departments can look at their own salaries and decide to take a few "unpaid days off" themselves. But, as we all know, that just will never happen.
A few weeks ago I suggested that public transportation should go ahead and mimic the state, and raise their fee to 3 bucks and get it over with. The few that still have jobs in this city will fork it over, or invest in two-wheel transportation. They will save many people a ton of grief, and less stress. So in a nutshell CTA and RTA, stop threatening the people that really do the work. Raise the fares, and just shut up. After all, what can we the people do about it? Oh yeah, buy a bike, or walk. I hear walking is healthy.

20 years of waste and corruption, and now he gets a brainstorm. It makes you wonder how many years those "220 vacant jobs" went "unfilled"? It also begs the question, is that lone guy still pulling down over 20 grand a month in overtime at the 911 center?
This new brainstorm, 20 years late, is supposed too win his honor another term right? Honestly, all these departments should have been "consolidated" years ago. And by the way, what the hell does a "clout-ridden Bureau of Electricity" doing in the Department of Streets and Sanitation anyway? I thought the gouging Commonwealth Edison had that covered.
Honestly Mr. Mayor, 24 "unpaid days off" for your "bureaucrats" isn't enough. Let's up the ante, and make it 52. They spend most of their time doing nothing, so you should get more bang for our taxpayer bucks. Also, isn't those people that tried too scam Motorola still working? Why?

Here's an idea. Ever heard of a pay-cut for lousy service? None of these elected officials, including you Mr. Mayor, deserve your outrageous salary's.
So how about all of you take a full year of salary suspension. That would save this city millions of dollars. None of you in good faith should accept any pay for the poor performance you have shown this city.
Now that's called being responsible. Step-up too the plate, declare that you will not accept any salary for a full year. It makes sense, since you are always asking us to bail the city out with ever-increasing taxes.
But alas, we the people of Chicago know that is wishful thinking. None of you will make such a sacrifice. You are just simply to greedy. Nevertheless, I challenge all of our elected officials to sacrifice a years pay. That includes the Governor, and State elected officials.
I challenge you all. Let's really see if you can make such a sacrifice.

The headline yesterday was that crime is down. Yeah, and I have a bridge to sell you.
Anyway, another tragic, and senseless shooting. But the venue surrounding the latest violent act, does indeed raise some serious questions. A 17 year old in a club at 2 am. That's not good. Did he attend school? Was he a drop-out? Questions like that need, and should be answered.
Whomever owns the club may face civil damages. The idiotic killer, will get caught. And I can bet you, the gun used isn't registered. It can't be, the Mayor banned handguns, but another one was used to kill a teen.
Way to go Mayor. Still thinking of fighting that of fighting that Supreme Court challenge?

Old news when you get down with the facts. The bigger question about FOX, is the obvious double standard. They scream and preach about morality, yet continue airing shows that portray the exact opposite. Need examples? The Simpson's, American Dad, Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, 24, Bones, House, and others.
Nevertheless, calling Fox biased is really old news. They never fact-check a real news story. They flat-out lied about the attendance at the "Tea-Bag March". They were busted "rallying up the crowd". They continue to allow their "talking-bobble-heads, Hannity, Beck, Huckabee, and the loofah wielding O'Reilly to misinform, better still, basically lie to viewers.
The real problem is the viewer. They should do the research after watching any of those misinformation shows. Yet they don't. You just can't take their word for anything, especially when they are caught in a flat-out lie, and yet refuse too correct the mistake. In all honesty, the "aide" didn't make an accusation. The "aide" pointed out a very large glaring fact. According to Fox, Bush and his gang could do no wrong, even when a wrong was, and continues to be exposed.
So don't hold your breath hoping that one day, Fox will finally become a "News Organization". Or that certain people will get terminated for lying. Just expect more raunchy shows from them, the "Kings of the Double Standard".

A memo for all the loony tunes screaming "socialism". Situations like this article, is where the federal government has a role. The federal government has, and must increase funding for the void left by police, due to attrition, and retirement.
Just read the article. When you have a hospital putting up funds, just to keep a center functioning, you have a problem. When you can give billions to banks, and nothing for people actually out there helping people, you have a problem.
Do we have to declare all city's, towns, villages, and states, all disaster areas? That seems to be the case in order for these communities to shore up the police forces around the country. This also brings into another question. What in the hell did these elected officials do with all that "Stimulus Money"? It seems we may have too start electing people with degrees in accounting. You know, someone really good with numbers, that can balance a budget, get rid of wasteful spending, and gut those already bloated salaries of "Appointed People" (cronies), that do nothing.
There is a way we can turn our youth around and stop this senseless violence. But if we begin the process of prosecuting parents, who's going to look after the kids? It's difficult for these community leaders to reach these kids because, if they are not in school, they surely are not working. The only thing they have to look forward too, is a life of crime. Well, that is, until it affects them, or someone they care about. I guess the lesson here is, when these people do begin to come outside, those unruly youth had better watch out.

I told you they should just make it 5 bucks, and just leave us alone with all this nit-picking increases.
The State is already considering jacking up drivers licenses fees to 25 bucks. That, was last months news. Now, here comes the CTA, followed next by the RTA, to jack us a little more.
It still makes you wonder, just what are these people doing with the money they receive from all that advertising slapped inside and outside buses and trains?
The new State motto should become "Stick It People". Yeah, that sounds good.

Seems like every time he attempts to do the right thing, there will always be resistance. But, you have to give this President credit for taking on the beast that has put this country, the working class, and the working poor, at the mercy of unscrupulous greed merchants.
It is truly a sad testament for this country that we have to create an agency just to prevent the rich and powerful from stealing us blind. For those that have the audacity to even criticize such a move, is a testament to their own support of thievery. That's pretty much it in a nutshell. Those that criticize this move, support robbing the people blind. If only our media would just ask that point blank question for once, you would really see a person's true colors.

Okay, one second here. If the last guy was a "thorn" in the Mayor's side, what will this guy be, a brick?
If I'm not mistaken, the last guy brought all kinds of corruption, and waste findings to the Mayor's attention, and the Mayor did nothing. Right? The people that tried to shake down Motorola are still employed correct? And what about that contractor stealing water, and possibly contaminating it? Do they still have a contract?
The answer to those questions are a resounding yes as far as I know. I haven't seen or heard anything else about them. So that should give any individual the impression, they still are working. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not slamming this person. This new "Inspector General" will surely have their hands full with a Mayor that rarely does follow-up.
So here's what I'm hoping for. I hope this person follows up on all the things their predecessor has already finished, and take any and all violators straight to court. I want this person too dig even deeper, finding more corruption, and waste, and move to have any other violators prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I want this person to be a "brick" in the Mayor's side.

Another case of too little, too late. Looking at the big picture of violence amongst our youth, one has to ask, why were community leaders absent from a meeting of such magnitude? After all, when you are sitting outside the bubble, how do you get inside to fix a problem?
Having community leaders present at such meetings, gives a better perspective on how to tackle such disturbing issues like violence, drug use, and drug dealing these communities face on a daily basis. So what kind of plan, or approach can these individuals come up with, when they don't have the pleasure, or horror of walking the streets these people must do on a daily basis? Sure more police is always a good start, but what about the root cause of this hostility?
The lack of father figures in these communities, is an essential factor. Many of these youths have no role-models to set goals, or give guidance, to set them on a path of decency, and responsibility. And those that do, see this father figure struggling to make ends meet from lack of job opportunities. Life in these instances, are unfavorable impressions on any child growing up in such surroundings.
So now with the meeting of the, too little, too late, how long do we have to wait for a game plan, without the input of community leaders? I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Oh will you look at this Mayor now. With his Olympic fetish up in flames, he now wants to act like the Mayor. Well Captain too little, too late, I have a news-flash for you. This should have been priority number one from the beginning.
Just look at the number of kids slain, or brutally beaten this year alone. Where were you when that child was slain on the bus? Where were you when all the others, (honor roll, athletically-gifted, and college-bound alike), were being shot, just for sitting outside on their porch? Where were you when the murder rate began to surpass last years mark? I know where you were. You hid. You wanted those Olympic so bad, nothing else mattered.
Now, all of a sudden, you want to put on your Captain Mayor uniform, and demand for more police. You didn't bother to listen to your Education Chief, and your Police Superintendent, when they probably told you to hire more police when they saw these rising crime rates. You blew them off so you could scheme and possibly scam your way to Olympic revenue. So tell us Captain Mayor, what did you do with your portion of the "Stimulus Money"? You certainly didn't spend it on more police.
Oh Captain too little, too late, what will you posture for now, since you have the attention of the White House? Will your new plea ensure enough police for the city, or just a portion? And by the way, just who is the Deputy Mayor in your absence? One would think that person would be all over the news when that child was beaten to death, putting the hammer down on gang-bangers, and drug dealers. But did we see your "Next-In-Command" while you were off in Copenhagen? No. Will Chicago have to undergo another Harold Washington episode in the event of your falling ill, or heaven forbid, passing while in office? I would truly hope not.
So how about showing off the Deputy Mayor from time to time? This way, we will know who exactly we need to direct our frustrations on when you feel the urge to jet-off in the near future. Maybe then, we shouldn't have to wait for you to come home, just to ask for more police.

Well at least some people will find employment. This is exactly what this Mayor should have pushed for in the first place. At the very least, a project of this nature would have had more favorable support from city residents.
The Mayor, his cronies, and all the other blame-seeking titty-babies, need to move on, and stop looking back at how the International Olympic Committee (IOC) voted. This should have been about "Long-Term" employment, not this short-term, grab all the cash you can event. It has been widely reported on how much money cities lose after an Olympic event. So having a long term project in place, offers a better shot at economic development, and job stability.
Now the only problem for a "Wal-Mart", or any other franchise too expand on such properties, is at least some concession, workers will receive a decent wage. But more should be required by our aldermen/women. They should also push for "Distribution Centers" within large vacant properties in the city, too slow the exodus of labor potential out in the surrounding suburbs.
Well it's just a suggestion. No doubt they will ignore it.

I must admit, it is extremely horrifying that republicans, and their walking, talking neanderthal mouthpieces, have stirred up their base to yelp "they want their country back", only to some day wake up and see it is them, that are taking the country away from us.
As if it wasn't bad enough, they nearly stripped us of our personal freedoms with that subversive "Patriot Act". The conservative wing of the Supreme Court, wants to figuratively take us back to the "Stone-Age", and "Salem Witch Hunts". Should the conservative wing of the Supreme Court get their way, one can anticipate more "Terri Schivao" like cases, brought on by republican interventionist.
I can never comprehend the shear hypocrisy of these insane, power-hungry, conservatives, and their obsession with wanting to control peoples lives. They are more heinous than a dictatorship a person could live under. We all know that a "Do as I say, Not as I do" ideology has never worked in this country. Yet, to this very day, they continue down this mindless path of total control.
Naturally, there will be those that will deny this approach. But they fail to see, that times have truly changed. This is a clear fact, because they have clearly forgot, that cell phones have cameras now, and can go anywhere for instantaneous communication. Nearly on a daily basis, you can catch them speaking subversion-type language around the globe.
If the conservative wing of the Supreme Court continues down this path, the "right for women to choose", education, privacy, and a host of personal freedoms shall be reversed. If and when that happens, we might as well go back to candles too light our homes.

Now that's an easy answer. It was the People of Chicago that didn't want it. And to a certain extent, money. That's right, the Mayor could not come up with the "Front-Money" the Olympics demanded. Had the Mayor swiped a little more from the taxpayers, this would not be a pretty place to hold an Olympic event.
One can envision the people out on the streets with pitch-forks had the Mayor taken a little more funds from the taxpayers. The polls conducted by both newspapers, showed a majority of citizens were dead against holding the event.
The people's main concern here in Chicago, are jobs, and the escalating violence amongst our young people. It wasn't "politics", or a "dull pitch". It was all about what the people of Chicago wanted.
Now that the Mayor is back in town, he has to address our concerns on jobs, and the senseless violence. With his little fancy dream vanquished, there's no hiding, or any more excuses for trips out of town. It's time to roll up the sleeves and figure out how to get our money back that he squandered fixing up a park where no Olympic event is being held. I just hope he doesn't sell that property to a parking company.

So 30 bucks more is just enough to kick off construction projects, getting some people in Illinois back working again. Things of this nature makes you wonder, what in the hell did they do with the "Stimulus Money" they already received?
So let me see if I have this right. 20 bucks for a State Id, and now 30 bucks for a Drivers License. Okay, so what happened to all that money collected for the State Id? What happened to the so-called lottery proceeds, that are supposed to go towards education? I'm just asking, since we already have had the stick stuck so far in us taxpayers by the Mayor of Chicago.
Well the bright side to this price increase just to drive a car, or truck, is that this just might make people move to public transportation. Hell for 30 bucks the Chicago Transit Authority, and Regional Transit Authority (CTA, RTA) might as well jack up their prices to 10 bucks and let people ride all day and night. Makes sense since they all want our money even as unemployment continues to rise.
Well for 30 bucks, they better hire me so I can afford the fee.

Oh the news just keeps getting better and better for the citizens of Chicago. As I, like so many others have predicted, Chicago did not get the Olympic bid. Now the only question for that losing bid, is when will we get our money back, and why did Mr. Mayor spend the "Stimulus Money" on his Olympic site, instead of the people of Chicago? Speaking of getting "Our Money Back", we still have this unresolved issue with "Safety Official" ripping off Motorola.
Come on Mr. Mayor, you have some serious questions to answer for. When will you reimburse us for that stimulus money, and for that non-existent console for the 911 center? Yeah, that's right Mr. Mayor. When will the people of Chicago see their reimbursement?
We truly hope that you don't just "laugh it off" like you did when you sold us down Lake Michigan with your "Parking Scam". Now that this latest round of scams have been nipped in the bud, we want to see some action from you Mr. Mayor. We know that is a difficult thing for you to accomplish, since you may get caught up in some future prosecutions.
But anyway, many of us here in Chicago are extremely happy the Olympics are not going to take place here. But we still are very, very upset with you and your cronies, for ripping us, the taxpayers off blind. We want reimbursement Mr. Mayor. Where's the Stimulus Money, Where's the Money for the Console, and Radios?

Something has to give with our nations youth. Are our neighborhoods getting so bad, that parents and the clergy have given up on these kids? Should we put down the remote and walk with our children to and from school, just to ensure their safety? And what do we say to the ones not in school, but standing on the street corners selling drugs, or just hanging-out because they dropped-out and can't find work? What has made these kids so violent to one another? Yes these are difficult questions, yet they do have many solutions. The number one solution begins at home. The second, takes hold in the clergy. And the third, goes directly at our schools.
We must look at the home-life of these children out on the streets, with no alternatives of structure to guide them into a more positive direction. If there is a two-parent household, we must ask if both parents work? Should it be a single-parent household, does that parent work? Such questions play a vital role in the development of children. There must be an adult present to give these wayward kids the structure they so desperately need. Without such guidance, we see the bloody aftermath left in the wake. This child should have never been treated in such a hateful, vile, and disgusting manner. The destruction of minority families has a long history in the United States. You can trace it as far back with the "Willie Lynch Letter 1772". This letter applies to all minorities to this very day. There are just too many households without a father figure, here in the United States. How did this happen? For starters, just look at the requirements for mothers applying for "Public Aid". The fathers income, no matter how little they make, is too much for the mother to qualify for assistance to maintain the home. So, the father has to go.
Now with the father figure gone, discipline, structure, and guidance suffers. Because those additional responsibilities fall on the mother. This is where the clergy and the father, really, really needs to step in. These two figures must rally the pulpit and ensure the children have a source to seek for discipline, structure, and guidance. Yet alas, the success rate is not very impressive. Churches, have taken some very arcane positions on social issues, that raise doubts in some minds as to their effectiveness in helping communities. Have churches surrounded themselves with a "everything is okay, until you mess with our interest mentality"? Some might say yes, others, no. But churches have been absent from ongoing struggles within their own communities. With all the advances in "instant communications", our churches need to get out, and go back too door-to-door communications. Churches just can't hide, or ignore young people hanging around a liquor store, or selling drugs, just a block away. They must step up, and protect the children, and communities.
Lastly, there are the schools. Ever since discipline was wrenched from the hands of the teachers (with parental permission), our children have become increasingly belligerent towards adults. For this nation to take away a vital tool for discipline, structure, and guidance for our kids, is just like what prohibition did to this country, it increased crime. Discipline has to be restored in our schools, just like prohibition was repealed. Our teachers should, and must be in command of the classroom. That is what helps our children learn. When we removed the father figure from the homes, the teachers filled that void with discipline, structure, and guidance for these children. We should have never taken control from teachers. They are the spark that lights up the brilliant minds of our children. Now they are being snuffed-out by senseless acts of violence, from a lack of education.

Well Mr. Mayor it appears that your precious ban is about to get the boot. Still though, I'm a bit puzzled at how you are going to pay for this costly fight? Oh that's right. I forgot. The taxpayers will pay for this losing fight.
We have a problem with your strategy Mr. Mayor. Your "gun-ban" hasn't worked since its inception in 1982. All it has done, is violated your "law-abiding" citizens right "to keep and bear arms". It also has allowed common criminals, and gang-bangers to get more guns.
Do you see the problem there Mr. Mayor? Well in the event that you don't, just pick up a local newspaper. Or better yet, turn on your computer (that is, if you have one), and read the horror stories of our youth, becoming alarming victims of your ineffective ban.
Here's another problem Mr. Mayor. You are always crying that this city is broke. You make the employees take "forced" days off, yet you somehow find taxpayer money for your Olympic fetish. Now you want too stick us again fighting a losing battle over your "flawed" ban.
Yes Mr. Mayor, your piece of unconstitutional legislation, is flawed. I bet you're chomping at the bit at how that conclusion is made? It's very simple you see. If a criminal can get a gun at the drop of a hat, and law-abiding citizens can't, it's flawed. Did you ever think about that when you ran around Springfield championing this unconstitutional legislation?
I have a more economic solution for you Mr. Mayor. Just "repeal" your unconstitutional ban, and save the taxpayers money. Yet for some strange reason, I'll bet you will never do such a thing. You see, if you're not gouging the taxpayer, you'll never be happy.
In the meantime, criminals will continue to get guns, school children will continue to be in danger, you'll continue your Olympic fetish, and fight this unconstitutional ban at the taxpayers expense.
Mr. Mayor, save us, the taxpayer some time and money for once. Repeal this unconstitutional ban, so the citizens of the City of Chicago can legally protect their children and property.

Nice. The guy still has a job, and isn't in jail. This is another classic example of how this Mayor doesn't care about this city, but just what is his cut.
This is how the city under Daley operates. Let's hire this guy at an alarming pay-scale, and make the people that do the "Real" work, take "forced" days off. By doing such, this soon-to-be jailbird can run around and strong-arm Motorola for kickbacks.
Meanwhile, the Mayor is off to Copenhagen trying to pass-off this city as a great place to hold an Olympic event. Even while kids are being snuffed-out by vicious scum at another alarming rate. The best part, or the term "ironic" about this article, this jerk is a "Public Safety Official". So in essence, instead of doing his job, he'd rather steal.
The moniker of "The City That Works", just doesn't apply here. Unless you are a criminal. Right Mr. Mayor?

Christ almighty, this guy is a day late and major dollars short. This is typical knee-jerk reactionary political grandstanding. This guy knows he doesn't have the union vote, so what does he do? Goes after them (the union) with a guilt by association attack.
I take it Mr. Kirk doesn't care much for the Constitution. Every now and then we have to remind these elected officials, that you just can't single out a group based on false information. Sure some very stupid people worked for ACORN, but they are no longer working. I sure can't say much for his staff for advising him to take on the working people here in Illinois, except that they also seem very stupid.
Now if Mr. Kirk wants to rally the base and exclude unions for doing work with ACORN some several years ago, fine by me. It's just a simple case of discriminating against working class, and poor people. The Republican Party holds such disdain for ACORN because it registers more Democratic, and Independent voters as opposed to Republicans. So naturally they will cry foul for a person or two filling out a registration form with the moniker of "Mickey Mouse". But Mickey never voted. That's a fact Mr. Kirk ignores.
Mr. Kirk's cry in the dark, is nothing more than a pay attention to me whimpering yelp. As true to Republican form, he targets unions which represents working class people. Why do republicans hate people that do the right thing like work and fight to help the poor? Now that seems very stupid. Maybe we should fire him and his staff?

Something is definitely wrong here. You see people, this is what happens when you have corporations, and financial institutions writing our laws. We elect people, regardless of party affiliation, to work, make legislation for us.
The simple logic of possession is 9/10ths of the law doesn't fly here. You buy a light fixture, it's yours. You buy a fence, it's yours. Yet according to the lobbyist that wrote this law, it isn't. God forbid a politician wrote such a law, he'd never get elected again.
So you get duped into a mortgage you can't afford, struggle making payments, lose your job, get sick, or both, and can't take anything in that house that you paid for out of your own pocket. Talk about old-school plundering from the financial institutions. Maybe Chase should change its name to Genghis Khan? Or for that matter, all financial institutions.
One would think that taking your new windows, fencing, and light fixtures a wise move for these former homeowners. I'm not very sure about the toilet though, maybe it's a comfort issue. Yet here's another example of corporations, and institutions writing a law most Americans were never aware of.
The only thing that will put a stop to such laws, is campaign finance reform. It's a simple as that. This is the only way for the people of the United States to have a say in government like we did prior to the takeover by the insurance industry, corporations, and the financial industry. That's a simple plan. Don't elect anyone, ever again, unless they come right out and say they support "We The People" on campaign finance reform.
This is how we should field our candidates from now on. If they oppose campaign finance reform, defeat them at the polls. Doing such, sends a clear message to those institutions that they will never write laws for us again.
