This isn't going to slow down because our elected officials continue doing nothing. The police can only do so much. You guys and gals (politicians) need to get off your asses and pass legislation dealing with this horror.
Just because it isn't happening in your neck of the woods yet, it doesn't give you the right for being dismissive. We know your mindset. You need to check it. We need cameras on every intersection, even down residential streets. Don't give me that privacy argument either. These are PUBLIC streets and sidewalks. If you think a camera is peeping into your windows, buy some fucking curtains or blinds.
Now, back to you do nothing politicians. Your mindset of it's a Black and Brown thing is bullshit. Your policies put people in this horrible situation. How you ask? Jobs and educational opportunities. The bulk of residents need automobiles for driving out to the suburbs for decent employment. Closing schools doesn't help either. People take minimum wage jobs to prevent from sleeping in parks, or anywhere. Yet you politicians listen to the slave drivers and refuse increasing the wages. Show me a Heroin field in the city? You can't. What are you doing to stop it from coming in the city? Nothing. Now get off your asses and pass legislation dealing with this horror.
