Why am I not surprised at the lack of outrage? A child is dead but the major headline in local papers is who won a running contest. No marches on city hall and downstate. No press conference from religious leaders denouncing the violence and a call for action. No press conference from the mayor and governor denouncing the violence and a call for action. No press conference from all the candidates running for mayor, state attorney, state assembly, alderman, or alderwoman, denouncing the violence and a call for action. Nothing.
