Jewel at a crossroads as Supervalu mulls options
If they go "belly-up", watch the executives walk away with millions, and the workers with nothing.
Look, it's always nice for a company to make a profit. The problem is what you do with the profit. The smart people re-invest in the business that made them wealthy. The not-so-bright ones, just pocket the profit, and spit on the workers.
The Jewel-Osco workers should take a hint from another business here in Chicago. You workers should get together, pool your resources, should they decide selling, and put your own bid in. Employee owned companies could become a new trend, should these workers ban together and keep these stores in the communities they serve.
Think about that workers. Get together and pool your resources so you can place a bid on the stores you work at, so at the very least, you will not walk away with nothing.
