4 Dead, 14 Wounded In Weekend Shootings « CBS Chicago


I find it odd how the NRA has the ability to tie the hands of law enforcement, and elected officials when dealing with the flow of illegally obtained firearms flowing into this state. When anyone suggest universal background checks, the NRA cries foul. Who do they really support? The vast majority of Americans support universal background checks, criminals on the other hand, don't. This tells me the NRA supports the criminals. Why? When anyone suggest waiting periods and background checks at "Open Air Gun Shows", the NRA cries foul. why?

These reforms do not encroach on any law abiding citizens constitutional rights under the Second Amendment. They only stop criminals, and those deemed mentally unstable from obtaining guns. To this very day, I haven't seen nor read of a "Straw Buyer" receiving a prison sentence for giving these weapons to known felons. Why? I'll tell you why. It's because of the NRA.
