Quinn pushes for assault weapons ban

Quinn pushes for assault weapons ban

My only question. What really took so long?

Once the "Assault Weapons Ban" was left to wither and die, states should have immediately re-instated it on their books. It was just a simple matter of public safety, and common sense. You really don't need a PhD to know when that ban ended, the mentally unfit, and criminals would soon obtain these weapons, and "High Capacity Magazines". If the military only uses 10, 20, and sometimes 30 round clips, what on earth would make a civilian person with minimum training, think 100 round magazines is a good idea?

When anyone has never served in the military, or law enforcement, why should any sane, rational person heed anything they utter? When the "Super-Ignorant" muse that if patrons in a Pitch Black Theater were "Armed" the outcome may have been "Different?"!!! How in hell is that a sane good idea? It isn't. It never was. And you can always bet, it never will be.

So what took so long for this idea to finally come around? Fear. Fear of the National Rifle Association (NRA), and how they have manipulated its members by spreading lies. Well, the fear is beginning to subside. The members are awakening from the coma-inducing lie factory of the NRA. Criminals, and the mentally unstable have no constitutional rights under the Second Amendment.

The NRA members think the leadership of this association are becoming unstable when they advocate the "Terrorist" have a right to arm themselves". Yes folks, the NRA supports anyone on the "Terrorist Watch List" to own a gun. That's more than enough for me to never support them. Hell! I even served in the military, and once worked for the Chicago Police Departments Central Booking Section. That's a heads-up for you dolts that may consider calling me a "Liberal". I'm not.  I'm that rare breed, aptly named a "Moderate". So speaking from a little experience. What in the hell do I need a 100 round magazine for?

Bridgeport developer taped ex-pols Moreno and Medrano for feds - Chicago Sun-Times

Bridgeport developer taped ex-pols Moreno and Medrano for feds - Chicago Sun-Times

I guess the big question is, when will these idiots ever learn?

The simple solution is probably never. It's not good enough that they bleed us dry with an undeserving salary, and free health care. Maybe we should just dump the health care package and let them pay for it themselves. Who knows, something like that just may motivate these guys and gals to finally start working for the people that elected them, and not greedy business crooks.

As sleazy as being a politician may seem for some, if I ever ran for public office and won, that office would always have a recorder going. When will these idiots ever learn?

Caterpillar workers on strike in Joliet: ‘It’s corporate greed, plain and simple’ - Chicago Sun-Times

Caterpillar workers on strike in Joliet: ‘It’s corporate greed, plain and simple’ - Chicago Sun-Times

It just can't get any simpler.

Steal from the people that made you millions upon millions. Kick them right in the ball-sack. Spit on them. Tell them it's all their fault that they must pay you, so they can't use an extra million for a solid gold toilet.

Last time I checked, these workers don't want to live in your "Gated Communities". They simply want an honest wage for their labor. But oh hell no! You need that solid gold toilet so bad, you are willing to steal from them, rather use the millions, and millions they helped you obtain.

Yep. That's nothing but "Corporate Greed, Plain and Simple."

5 dead on South, West sides in 12-hour period

5 dead on South, West sides in 12-hour period

Okay, if this isn't terrorism, what is?

The Federal and State governments have the power, and resources to launch an attack on these terrorist brazenly running around, sometimes in daylight firing illegally obtained weapons, killing each other, and most importantly, innocent civilians. Change the law, and charge them as terrorist.

Just because it's happening in cities, doesn't mean it will not spill into the suburbs. It will. Note to lawmakers. These are not common criminals anymore. They must be treated like the terrorist they are. Terrorist don't have the luxury of declaring war. They just commit atrocity, after atrocity to instill fear within the areas they terrorize. You elected leaders are "Briefed" on what's going on, and who they are. Law enforcement agencies have every one of these terrorist photographs. Get together, and get it done. Charge them as Terrorist.

Go to court. Change the law. Begin rounding up all "Known Gang Members". Put them in Gitmo, or that huge empty prison upstate. Show them Zero Tolerance means just that. They have already broken the law by using illegal weapons, and killing many innocents. So as far as "Rights" are concerned, they blew that. Enemy combatants must go through Military Tribunals. They are terrorizing communities, and killing innocent civilians. Change the law, and charge them as terrorist.

Sure it's risky, but experts bet on Mars rover's landing plan

Sure it's risky, but experts bet on Mars rover's landing plan

Talk about nail-biting! Yes, I'm a science geek. You can bet I'll be up watching this historic moment. Seriously folks, this is beyond cool.

Here we are about to put a mini SUV on another planet that eventually will find microbial life in our solar system. Yeah, that's right, I said "Eventually Find Microbial Life." It's there. It's also on Titan. There is only so much our scientific community will tell us common people simply because we have so many moron's running among us.

Hell if you don't believe that, just tune into FOX News for 20 minutes. I can guarantee you, your brain will implode, or your television will wind up through your wall, or out your window. Hell! Maybe all of the aforementioned will happen. And if that doesn't happen, well you may remember a movie from the 1990's, called "They Live"? That's your typical FOX News viewer without the sunglasses watching. Sorry, Had to take that shot at Moron's Incorporated.

Yes folks, I'll be up watching this historic landing, and I'm betting it will be beyond cool.

Rep. Connie Howard retires after her state grants were subpoenaed

Rep. Connie Howard retires after her state grants were subpoenaed

While not accusing her of any wrong-doing, one can't help but think at that old saying about either the "Love, or Lust of Money..." I figured it out. It only destroys from within.

I guess the human condition of seeking power, and wealth hasn't changed since the beginning of time. And you know what? It appears it never will, unless we wise up. I guess we just truly have to ask ourselves, "What does it profit a man, or woman when they lose their soul"?

Oh well. The Love or Lust of Money can't cure it. It only destroys from within.

Chicago church leaders call for a weekend of peace

Chicago church leaders call for a weekend of peace

I know this blog is called "oh ultimate cynic" (Just bunched together), but I strongly support these church leaders. All I can do is make suggestions, and hopefully someone, somewhere on this planet will pick up on it, and give it a shot. Unlike the republicans, and NRA, if something doesn't work the first time, we sane humans go back and fix it, so the next time we try something, it works.

We in the human world call such techniques learning from experience. So with the church leaders, yes we do need better enforcement of our gun laws. A vast majority of gun owners agree that we don't really have a need for 20, 30, or 100 round magazines just for protecting our loved ones, homes, and hunting.

I mean seriously folks. If you can't hit a deer in the head or chest with just a couple of shots, you pretty much suck at hunting. Why riddle the poor defenseless buck or doe with 100 rounds? I like venison, but not with metals used as seasoning.

So hit the streets church leaders. Get your congregation out there and mingle with our lost youth. Give them something to do. Little things like cleaning up around the church and neighborhood. Give them more than hope. Give them some sense of responsibility, and belonging. And while we are at it, let's either, demand our lawmakers ban high capacity magazines, and reinstate the assault weapons ban. If we fail at it, let's just get a petition on the ballot, and do it, of, for, and by the people. That's how we learn from our past mistakes. Unlike the republicans, and NRA.

6 hurt in overnight shootings across the city

6 hurt in overnight shootings across the city

I do hope dues paying members take heed of this prediction.

Since the zany executives heading up the NRA keep lying to its members, and tying the hands of not only law enforcement, but law makers as well, somewhere, in some city, or State, they will eventually push these criminals into your areas.

Now we all know, once that happens, and it's going too, all of us law-abiding citizens will howl at the moon. It is us, the law abiding citizen that must jump through hoops in order for any of us to purchase a gun for home defense. The criminals don't have those hoops in-place. It is us, that once we purchase a gun, rifle, or shotgun we have to waste more money taking a class. Even veterans. The criminals don't. Now who can we thank for such idiocy? The NRA and Money Taking Politicians, that's who. Did you know that in Texas, an NRA membership card is good enough identification that a person could vote? But don't show up with a student Id, because that isn't proof of who you are even with your picture on it.

Since it's much easier to own a gun, I suggest EVERY law abiding citizen regardless of race, creed, religion, or sexual orientation go out and buy one gun. The NRA, and gun-nut republicans heads will collectively explode, because they hate when minorities and same-sex citizens can enjoy the same rights these bigots put in-place. They will then scramble to scrap these insane laws via over-reach, and trample your Constitutionally Protected Second Amendment rights.

Remember, these criminals will soon be coming to your area. Just watch.

Romney's foreign tour to be a show of statesmanship

Romney's foreign tour to be a show of statesmanship

Boy, who wrote this headline?

Maybe they should have thought about such a title. Anyone with a brain knows this guy is going over there to do nothing but complain. That's all he's good for. It's a damn shame when the "News" turns itself into a cheerleader as opposed to just reporting the facts.

Fact: The guy has something to hide in his tax returns. Fact: That's the reason Senator McCain didn't pick him for vice president. Fact: He and his wife, are completely out of touch with people. Fact: You don't use the term "You People" in the face of a person of color. Fact: It's insulting, and denigrating.

A "show of statesmanship"? I highly doubt that with this guy's track record. Whoever wrote that headline, check those facts I just laid out for you. Stop cheer-leading, and just report the facts.

Death on West Side sidewalk: 'Fireworks,' tears, and prayer

Death on West Side sidewalk: 'Fireworks,' tears, and prayer

Malicious intent. Never let this unthinking, uncaring evil incarnate see civilization again. It is time for a National database.

A majority of law-abiding gun owners have no problem with a National database. It helps law enforcement.

I don't care if you are democrat, republican, or independent. The public safety is a non-partisan issue. I have very serious doubts the weapon used in this cowardly act, was legally obtained.

So get with the majority of gun owners you elected officials, and enact a National database so law enforcement can effectively do the job we the people have entrusted them to do.

Two 16-year-olds dead, 4 wounded in South Side shootings

Two 16-year-olds dead, 4 wounded in South Side shootings

With the tragic event unfolding in Colorado, and the almost nightly, sometimes in daylight, shootings here in the city, and across the nation, we have no other entity to thank but the National Rifle Association (NRA).

I say this because this entity will never relent in paying off our elected to push ridiculous gun laws around the country. What civilian needs an assault rifle? When has anyone seen a moose, bear, deer, quail, or turkey wearing a bullet-proof vest and packing heat? Never. Why is it so easy for a criminal, or a mentally unstable person to purchase an assault rifle, but law-abiding citizens must jump through hoops just to cast a vote?

Yes folks, the NRA is to blame for all this mayhem across the country. They take hard working, every day citizens money, and give it to politicians so they can push through more, and more nonsensical legislation. This lunacy hampers law enforcement. Look no further then the "Fast and Furious" debacle as one, just one example. Those law enforcement officials involved could not get the approval of district attorney's to lock up people making illegal purchases. Yeah! I said the same thing. What The Fuck! So the sane people shut it down and caught hell over it. Yeah! Again, like you, I said What The Fuck!

The NRA is opposed to a "National Database". Dues paying members, a huge majority, are in favor. There is only one way for us as a nation to fix this, and make it happen. Stop paying dues to the NRA. A long, long time ago, I did when I saw how insane they were becoming.

Rep. Joe Walsh skipping GOP convention

Rep. Joe Walsh skipping GOP convention

Oh man, did you check out his reason why? "The people want someone that will fight for them." That must be some crack he's smoking. I distinctly recall him telling his "constituents" (Paraphrasing) Don't expect me to do shit for you. Or words to that effect.

This is what happens when you vote against your interest. You get screwed. Riddle me this voters. Do you want a fully staffed police, and fire department? Do you want your crumbling roads and bridges repaired? Do you want a functioning public school system that really educates your kids? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then vote for a candidate that will work day and night to make those things happen. This is why you vote. You vote because you want better access to transportation, decent roads, and bridges, and competent, fully staffed public safety services. You don't vote for, forgive the expression, deadbeat dad's that don't want you to have the SAME access to health-care that he enjoys at your EXPENSE!

The possible real reason he's "Skipping" the convention, is that they (Mitt) don't want a dead beat dad trolling around the hotel. If he did go. Who would he be "fighting for"? Certainly not the voters.

Grand jury looking into death involving Daley nephew

Grand jury looking into death involving Daley nephew

Let's just hope this isn't swept under the rug like the last time.

Why this simple matter of justice being served took so long is beyond reason. When it happened, statements were took. After that, the ball was completely dropped.

We as a society, must put an end to this slap on the wrist, or turn a blinds eye justice system for the rich, and powerful. It should never matter who you are, or who you know, when anyone violates the law. There are way to many examples for this little blog to list about violators of the law. But, if any person needed just one, look no further then the super criminals at these banks across the country. Not one has come under indictment. Yet here, we have a case of a violation of the law where all involved, gave statements, and nothing was done. Why? Simply put, it was who he was, and who he knew.

Let's not drop the ball again, and sweep this under the rug.

Cars vandalized in police parking lot on West Side

Cars vandalized in police parking lot on West Side

Talk about last straws! These idiots think they actually hurt law enforcement by scratching, and marking up vehicles. How much dumber can they possibly get?

This just makes my case for charging these super-dolts as terrorist. It's dumb, cowardly antic's such as this that fall under the definition of  terrorist acts. They have officially declared war on law enforcement by doing this immature cowardly thing.

So come on lawmakers, to hell with these super-dolts, man and women up and enact legislation so police can charge these butt-heads as terrorist. It will work, and withstand constitutional scrutiny. These are simpleton's. So you have to ask yourself, how much dumber can they possibly get?

Close the deal on Thomson

Close the deal on Thomson

Are you kidding me? A republican form Virgina that really doesn't give a rat's ass about what goes on in Illinois, except a Black man is President, and just happens to be from this State, is blocking up the funds? Seriously folks, this is just another new low these bigots will sink.

That prison could be used for housing these douche-bag gang members under the RICO, and Patriot Act as organized crime, and terrorist. That would be an excellent idea for any small-minded bigot when it comes to locking up people of color. But, just because a person of color is sitting in the oval office, they feel the last thing they need is a Black guy telling them what to do. For them, that is never the way the shoe must fit.

I wonder what the other lawmakers, democrat and republican think about an "outsider" fucking them over? We already know one in particular doesn't care. Yeah Joe Walsh, I'm talking about you. I wouldn't expect anything less from a guy that refuses supporting children. So how much lower can you bigots sink? I really want to know.

Bankruptcy choices highlight fiscal pain of cities nationwide

Bankruptcy choices highlight fiscal pain of cities nationwide

This is a very interesting subject for all the wrong reasons.

You could ask yourself, how in the hell is it possible for a city, town, or village to declare bankruptcy, when they rake in taxes on a daily basis? The answer is really simple when you just take a moment, and think. Graft, corruption, and greed. They make more then a police officer, fireman, teacher, or EMT. Yet they are the very first ones looking to cut those workers pay, without one thought of doing such to themselves. The only exception, that guy that slashed everyone down to minimum wage.

Yet, all of the cities, towns, and villages get a cut from lottery proceeds, and the taxes they collect. You also have a complete asinine situation where these same people jack-up property taxes on declining home values. Yeah, go figure. I wonder if these places, and elected officials have to attend credit counseling like they make us poor schmucks do? My guess is, probably not.

So the real question is this, where's the money you collected from property taxes, lottery proceeds, income, and sales? What exactly did you people do with it? Is it in your pockets? And if so, how in the hell did it get there? If an elementary school can only afford fans during the summer, what's the point of a lottery that's supposed to fund education? Where's that money really going? Administrative fees? If that is the case, maybe minimum wage for those people should be the norm.

Jewel at a crossroads as Supervalu mulls options

Jewel at a crossroads as Supervalu mulls options

If they go "belly-up", watch the executives walk away with millions, and the workers with nothing.

Look, it's always nice for a company to make a profit. The problem is what you do with the profit. The smart people re-invest in the business that made them wealthy. The not-so-bright ones, just pocket the profit, and spit on the workers.

The Jewel-Osco workers should take a hint from another business here in Chicago. You workers should get together, pool your resources, should they decide selling, and put your own bid in. Employee owned companies could become a new trend, should these workers ban together and keep these stores in the communities they serve.

Think about that workers. Get together and pool your resources so you can place a bid on the stores you work at, so at the very least, you will not walk away with nothing.

Girls, 12 and 13, wounded near park: 'Those are all of our children'

Girls, 12 and 13, wounded near park: 'Those are all of our children'

Hopefully there is a lawmaker in this State that will seriously consider this suggestion. These shootings are terrorist acts against innocent civilians in the United States of America, and should from now on, be treated as such.

These terrorist have declared war within the States across the country. This simply isn't a Chicago problem. It's happening across the nation. They cannot be treated like common criminals because they will never be such. They are terrorist, plain and simple.

Police departments across the nation have become overwhelmed combating these terrorist with reduced staff, and budget cuts. I suggest some lawmaker contact the Department of Homeland Security, and initiate a plan of assistance for local, and state law enforcement. These terrorist do not deserve incarceration in State penal systems. They are enemies of the nation, and should, no, must be placed in the same system as known terrorist are housed today. They are engaging in drug distribution. That is a federal crime.

It is time for the Department of Homeland Security, created under the Bush administration via the "Patriot Act" to finally do what it was intended for. Imprison, and if necessary, execute terrorist.

Study: Those with lower income less likely to opt into research trials

Study: Those with lower income less likely to opt into research trials

Short and sweet today.

If your government is running around purposely infecting minorities with venereal disease's, like they did years ago, wouldn't you be a bit gun-shy? It's all about trust people.

I understand researchers are trying to get a handle on treating the sick with the best available medicines, but being a guinea pig has a price. Just listen to all the "Side Effects" when you watch the next commercial about some pill. It's all about trust.

Emanuel acknowledges aldermen's concerns about shootings

Emanuel acknowledges aldermen's concerns about shootings

Here's an idea. Get those lawmakers down state off their collective rear-ends and stiffen the penalties for gun violence.

The State version of the RICO Act is the law of the land. Start enforcing it. You already have a data base of activity, and mug-shots. Scoop them up and charge them.

Texas to test 1965 voting rights law in court

Texas to test 1965 voting rights law in court

Odd isn't it? Anyone with a brain would call for a "National Identification Card" for all U.S. citizens. But the very second someone calls for such, the Republicans would scream bloody murder.

Whenever it's easier for anyone to buy a gun as opposed to voting, you have some really disturbed people running that State. Think about it. A student Id is good enough to buy a gun, but not good enough to cast a vote. That, is insane.

Here's an idea. If you have a social security card, how about switching it over with a photo included? You might as well implement doing such, since we always have to replace the old ones due to wear and tear. Doing such a replacement tactic will totally destroy the republican false argument of voter fraud. Now if they were ever serious about voter fraud, you only have to look at the State of Florida, and the Supreme/Corporate Court decision. Talk about a major case of voter fraud, that was it.

But then again, if someone made such an attempt for a National Identification Card, the republican party will scream bloody murder.

Gang factions drive up Chicago’s murder toll - Chicago Sun-Times

Gang factions drive up Chicago’s murder toll - Chicago Sun-Times

Now that you have identified the problem, get busy busting the punks. I'm betting a good number of them are out past curfew, and the ones that are past the age should be shown zero tolerance.

It's already established the bulk of these clowns have mug-shot's on file. Factions or not, they are operating in an organized method, so RICO charges should apply for any of them caught. So come police department, there's a big empty federal prison sitting in the Northern suburbs. "It's clobbering time."

For the parents letting your kids run around after curfew, the police must begin enforcing the curfew fines. And for you legal age punks, get ready for a very long stint. Get serious lawmakers and show zero tolerance.

4 dead, 19 wounded in overnight shootings in city

4 dead, 19 wounded in overnight shootings in city

It may be difficult, but since you signed your version of the RICO Act into law, you might as well round up all known gang members and let them sit a spell ("Indefinitely") in that big empty prison out in the burbs.

Hell, should push come to shove, why don't you charge them with terrorism under the Patriot Act? If you did that, you could hold them "indefinitely". You have their mugshots. You have their past, and under current investigation records. So round them up, and put them in that big empty prison out in the burbs.

Romney clarifies he believes individual healthcare mandate is a tax

Romney clarifies he believes individual healthcare mandate is a tax

Really? Let me guess. His plan is still a "Fee"? Okay, I get it. The Koch Brothers, and all the others, even the King Wind-Bag of the GOP Rush, cursed you out, and told you to follow, and do, what they tell you.

If I ever considered voting republican, you Mitt, will never get that. You see Mitt, I vote only for candidates with not only a brain, but a fucking spine also. You cannot have it both ways Mitt. Your own "Mandate" is now a tax. Not a fee.

Isn't it ironic that the day would come when I would agree with the bigoted Rick Santorum when he said "you would be the worst candidate for president in history." I do hope that is the exact quote. But, if it isn't, it's damn sure close.

Wow! I can't wait and see, and hear what the Koch, Adelson, Ricketts, and Limbaugh's Curse you out and tell you what to do next.

Tribune columnist Clarence Page under review for unauthorized paid speech

Tribune columnist Clarence Page under review for unauthorized paid speech

See folks, Mr Page did the honorable thing unlike the spineless pukes over at "Politico", and FOX.

If you haven't heard, or read a reporter got fired for simply speaking a non-controversial truth, while Beck over at FOX calls the sitting President of The United States a "racist" and kept his job at the time. It should have been an opposite outcome. Beck should have been fired, and Mr. Brown should have kept his job. The last time Mitt sat around any minorities he made a complete fool of himself by doing what he does best. Being uninformed, and completely out of touch.

Mr. Page on the other hand, became aware of what was happening, and took steps to rectify the situation. The only question that remains, what will the folks at Tribune do? Whatever the outcome, Mr. Page took the necessary steps once becoming aware. Hopefully the Tribune will not become spineless pukes like the others, and keep Mr. Page.

Sweltering: Eight-day run of days in the 90s

Sweltering: Eight-day run of days in the 90s

If it's any consolation, the climate deniers will say this is normal for this time of year. I say, bullshit.

Yesterdays storm that barreled through my neighborhood looked damn near like a mini tornado with the swirling rain and very high speed winds. Some winds were clocked around 90 miles per hour. That folks isn't normal in any way, shape, or form.

The only consolation I have, is the fact Com Ed came today and got what was left of a mulberry tree off the power line. I'm still waiting on AT&T to get their line free from the remaining branches.

So climate deniers, I lived here all my life, and have never, never witnessed a storm like yesterdays in all my 52 years. So I say once again, Bullshit!
