Hard times prompts cash-strapped consumers to turn to pawn shops - Chicago Sun-Times


Well this article should not come as a shock to anyone on the front-lines around the country.

Remember when they told us that people will not get "cost of living adjustments" because the last administration did so much "Off the Books" slight of hand accounting? Ever since that announcement, people on fixed incomes have been getting reamed, along with those making minimum wage. Yet, you can't help but scratch your head, when you thumb through any paper in the nation, and see these strange headlines claiming, "consumer spending up" a percent here, or there. Yeah, it's up, because as this other headline informs you, people need money for FOOD!

I don't know about you, but I think those people that announced that no "Cost Of Living Adjustment" was needed, should go back and redo the math. I'm betting those jaws will hit tables galore when they find out how much, prices have shot past the average working, and fixed income families in this country.
