CTA head pledges no fare hikes this year, but won’t say plans for 2012 - Chicago Sun-Times


Madness, madness I tell you.

To hell with the State! Raise the fares with either a 50 cent or $1 increase, and fix your budget problem. Nickle and dime increases each year just irks riders of public transportation. So just make the fare either $2.50 or $3.00 and be done with it. That way folks that utilize public transportation know what to expect, and the city can at the very least garner some revenue without waiting on Springfield to get off its duff.

On second thought, make it a flat $3.00 and call it a day. Madness indeed I tell you.
