Mitchell: How Rahm Emanuel won black voters - Chicago Sun-Times

Mitchell: How Rahm Emanuel won black voters - Chicago Sun-Times

A special note for anyone considering a run for public office. It's all about JOBS, and making the city, state, and country work together, "not the color of your skin, but the content of your character".

This is a very good article for anyone considering politics to take a look at.

Gov. Pat Quinn scales back budget cuts after protests - chicagotribune.com

Gov. Pat Quinn scales back budget cuts after protests - chicagotribune.com

Well, what this Governor really needs to do is go back to Clinton-era taxation. The wealthy must pay their fair share. They have gotten off for 10+ years not helping this country, and now is the time for this madness to stop.

The rich have shipped our jobs overseas with the blessing of presidents since the 80's. Under President Eisenhower they paid nearly 80% in taxes. Now they are down to 33%. But that's not good enough for them. They want everything from the air we breath to the water we drink, de-regulated so they can poison, and pollute. They must pay their fair share. They must have their taxes raised back to 1990 levels. If they don't like it, well, let's be like that dictator of a governor in Wisconsin, and never compromise. We must insist on bringing back taxes to those levels. This is the only way these greed merchants will finally get the message.

Raise taxes back to 39% on the wealthy 2%. They can afford it. Don't fall for that lame excuse of doing such will kill jobs. So far the GOP hasn't brought forth one idea/solution for creating one single job. All they have done is re-ignite the Culture Wars, attacks on women, and gave away tax cuts to the rich. Please, don't ever vote for them again.

Raise Taxes On The Wealthy. They have had a free ride for over a decade.

State Sen. 'Hollywood' Hendon resigns

State Sen. 'Hollywood' Hendon resigns

This is a very interesting article, and in an odd sort of way, this lady hit the proverbial nail on the head.

This is her quote:

At the statehouse, Collins said Hendon was disappointed with Tuesday's election results.

“People didn't come out. Down here we can't help our community. It's dying,” she said. “All the resources, they're steadily cutting back resources in our community. They're going to cut human services, all of the stuff that people in our community need. So when they come to our office for help, we're down here.

“We raised their taxes, but now we want to cut all their services. Well people with substance abuse, mental health treatment, those are people that affect  our community. People in prison going home, yet they increase the… Department of Corrections budget. But they're planning to decrease all the other budgets.

Collins suggested the message is “our children aren't important,” particularly with budget proposals to cut programs that help teens after school.

“When you can’t help our community … you feel impotent as an elected official,” she said.

Wis. governor pranked by caller posing as donor - chicagotribune.com

Wis. governor pranked by caller posing as donor - chicagotribune.com

Well the truth is something for all of us to behold.

We all know this guy is nothing more than a shill for big corporations. This prank proves the GOP and corporations utter disdain for working men and women. Now I don't know about the rest of you, but I will never vote for people of such ilk. They don't want anything from you besides servitude. The people of Wisconsin should not have to wait a year just to throw this corporatist out on his rear. He is just plain sleazy, and uncaring, with this conversation caught on tape.

I warned you all about the GOP and corporate backed Teabaggers. They want to strip mine this country, and leave it looking like Haiti. Go through your history books and look at what they did to this country leading up to the Great Crash of 1929. They are doing it all over again. Yes you will have all those blowhards on television pleading this is not the case, but you only have to "KNOW THY HISTORY" and see for yourself, they are lying.

With this conversation caught on tape, it is now confirmed what any rational person suspected all along. The GOP, and corporations are out to destroy decent hard working Americans.

Wis. gov rejects compromise floated by GOP lawmaker - chicagotribune.com

Wis. gov rejects compromise floated by GOP lawmaker - chicagotribune.com

In all honesty, this guy and those of his/her ilk, are nothing more then stooges for corporate America.

They have only one mission. Destroy the middle class. They have been bought and paid for by corporations across the country, and now must obey their every command, or lose funding. In this particular case, this guy will not compromise to any reasonable request, because he is under orders from his handlers. He would much rather see the state burn to the ground then give an inch in seeing that the working men and women get a fair shake.

Corporate America doesn't care if all you have to eat is cat food, if you are lucky to get that. They want you, the people to be indentured servants. They have destroyed our manufacturing industry where the middle class prospered. They have shifted our people into a "Service-Sector Industry", where consuming things is the norm. We used to make materials with our minds, and brute strength. Now, we just eat. The State of Wisconsin brought this country many rights for the working men and women of this country. It's no wonder this stooge is out to take all that away, and make Wisconsin into a Slave State. But I believe in the people of Wisconsin, no matter the race, creed, or ethnic background. They see what's trying to be done, and will not stand for such.

This is a fight Corporate America will never win. Thomas Jefferson said it best: " Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies." You can throw big oil, and all the other industries into the mix today. We didn't ask you to cut taxes for the wealthy, or us. The wealthy told you to do it.

These stooges for Corporate America fooled the people into voting for them. Let us never have this happen again. They only seek to destroy the middle class. They refuse to improve our roads, schools, public safety, hospitals, and public transportation. If anything that must be cut first, make sure it is the money we pay them. If we can't have access to health-care for our tax dollars, neither shall you.

Stripping citizens of their hard fought rights will only awaken a "Sleeping Giant". Keep pushing us.

Troopers sent after Wisconsin Democratic leader—with a message - Chicago Sun-Times

Troopers sent after Wisconsin Democratic leader—with a message - Chicago Sun-Times

I don't know about the rest of you, but when I read what these leaders did, I loved it.

This should be a warning shot for all the greedy corporatist that have declared Class Warfare on the 98% of the country that are the ones that do the hard work. They have been after us since the Great Depression. All these greed merchants want is economic slavery. We have fought too hard to ever let them ruin this country like they wish they could prior to 1929. They have duped the "Tea Party" minions that got up in arms because we elected a President of a different background that sought change in how we do business. They flat out lied to those poor souls, telling them that "Death Panels" are coming. Now, that they have been elected, we see who is really the ones implementing those so-called "Death Panels". Look no further then the State of Arizona.

Yes folks, this is all out warfare on the Middle, Lower, and Working Poor in this country. If any of these Corporatist Republicans can explain why they feel the Oil industry, Banks, Insurance, Mining, Gas, and Electrical should get subsidies, with record profits, and you can't, should never be in office in the first place. The "Free Market" philosophy means only one thing. Screw the 98% that do the actual work in this country. When they scream for "Small Government", all they are saying is get rid of the cop on the street, so they can rob you blind.

If you don't believe me, just look at what they did in the past, and compare it to now. Same old story. That wealthy minority still thinks they can screw us over. They will always keep trying in many different ways, and forms. It is up to us to forever let them know, this is The United States, not a Kingdom, or a Theocracy. I will always love it when the working men and women of this country stand up to tyranny.

Emanuel-Burke battle brewing - Chicago Sun-Times

Emanuel-Burke battle brewing - Chicago Sun-Times

If you are like me, this is the only candidate standing up to this relic from clout street. His (Burke) wife is a judge. He (Burke) has his own taxpayer funded police security detail. He (Burke) will also retire with more money then he would ever make as an alderman, compliments of the tax payer.

Why has this city let this happen? Why hasn't one investigative journalist studied this career of simple robbery of the people? Where is the Attorney General? Are all these people afraid of this one man? I just find it hard to believe that out of all these people running for Mayor, just one, finally called out an alderman that shows nothing but utter contempt for his constituents. In this new age of accountability, it's time for Mr. Burke to reconsider gouging his constituents. Those officers should be on the streets. Last time I checked, you are not the Mayor.

Let those police officers go. They belong to the City, not you.

Quinn wants to borrow $8.75 billion to pay down bills - chicagotribune.com

Quinn wants to borrow $8.75 billion to pay down bills - chicagotribune.com

When I read articles like this, I can't help but think, what are they doing with those "Lottery Proceeds"?

If I'm not mistaken, that money was supposed to go into a "General Education Fund"? Where's the transparency in that? How many hands are in that "Cookie Jar"?

Reports assail Pagano's management of Metra - chicagotribune.com

Reports assail Pagano's management of Metra - chicagotribune.com

This is what happens when you PAY people to do nothing but steal.

I'm certain, no person in the State of Illinois is shocked by this. We, the tax payer, forsake our hard earned money to pay criminals of this ilk, because our elected officials think it's a good idea to hire crooks, and pay them well. People like this are not elected. They are appointed by the Grand Masters of Deception. And who gets stuck? Us. King Daley leaves office with more money in his pockets then the city budget. Go figure. The County Board President wants to give a "Friend" a hefty pay raise for a job that "Pays" well enough. Go figure. Meanwhile, police, fire, emt's, and teachers get kicked in the butt because it's all their fault. But here, we have major ass-clowns ripping us, the tax payer off, because they can, and have no fear of accountability. Go figure.

Is there any person out there willing to lock these thieves up? If this continues, you will see an uprising more sooner then later. We the people, are getting real sick of these people constantly getting over, and never being held accountable. It's true, and don't be surprised when we hold you accountable. See how you like it after 99 weeks of unemployment.

Two new online studies look at e-cigarettes - chicagotribune.com

The 1st study seems to have taken the lazy road for that doctorate degree ya think?

The 2nd one just might provide more information had the respondents not had a meltdown trying to quit and send back the surveys.

Taste of Chicago to be all food, no music, Daley says - Chicago Sun-Times

Taste of Chicago to be all food, no music, Daley says - Chicago Sun-Times

I read the article, and I'm still baffled.

You let the "Vendors" set up, and serve "Food" to people that "Paid" for the food, and you didn't collect one nickle in taxes? Are you telling me that sending Streets and Sanitation for clean up, and Police for safety, didn't cover the money made from "Selling Food and Drink"? If that's the case, WTF dude! What kind of deal did you make? How much did you pocket?

This is one head scratching article.

House Republicans only nick congressional budget, slash spending by domestic agencies - chicagotribune.com

House Republicans only nick congressional budget, slash spending by domestic agencies - chicagotribune.com

No big surprise here. The good old do as I say, not as I do gang are up to the same old tricks, just like in 1994.

Why do the people that don't make $100,000 a year continue to vote these clowns into office? They will NEVER have your best interest at heart. All they want to do is destroy your way of life. All you have to do is just look at all the policies they want in place. They do not, and will never represent you. They only serve the wealthy, not you.

I hear you screaming about government spending, but when these knuckleheads start cutting services to you, not a peep. Why is that? Look at the GOP track record. Spending is the top priority for them. Look at all the money they swept under the books that caused record deficits. Yet, not a peep from you. Why is that? They refuse to give back tax payer funded health care coverage, but want to strip you of any coverage. They lie right in your face, and you accept it. Why is that?

Now look at what they are doing. It's the same old I got mine, screw you mentality you put into office. Not one JOB Bill from them. And you voted for them. Good luck with that.

City turns to side streets as life gets back to normal - Chicago Sun-Times

City turns to side streets as life gets back to normal - Chicago Sun-Times

So I take it after the "Side Streets" alley's are next?

One would think so. After-all, if residents can't get out of garages so they can go about "Normal Activities", like taking out the trash (only if they can find buried containers), or going to work, what's the point? Look, our "Aldermen/women have expense accounts compliments of the taxpayers. How about RENTING some Bobcats and clear some paths in our alley's? Another question, didn't they declare this a "National Disaster"? Wasn't the National Guard called out? One would think they would have some kind of equipment we could borrow?

Makes sense.

Blizzard is third-largest storm in Chicago’s history - Chicago Sun-Times

Blizzard is third-largest storm in Chicago’s history - Chicago Sun-Times

Well as long as it didn't top the 1967 storm, we are so far, so good.

I might as well throw this out there for the "Climate Deniers" out and about. If you took the time to notice, so far the winter of 2010-2011 in Chicago, has been either below average, or slightly average, as far as temperature, and precipitation. Don't take my word for it, look it up. Chicago's very own local weatherman, the Reliable Tom Skilling, has informed the viewing audience, that for the "Last Ten Years" we've warmed up. That folks is why it is called "Climate Change". Just take off the tin foil hats, and notice the severity of storms. Remember the last Olympics? They had a problem with snow in Canada (of all places), while the East Coast got walloped.

In the end, we here in Chicago were a bit overdue for some significant snow of this magnitude. If I can see my lawn in December, something has indeed changed. You know, like the climate.

Preckwinkle proposes more than 1,000 layoffs in county - Chicago Sun-Times

Preckwinkle proposes more than 1,000 layoffs in county - Chicago Sun-Times

This is only the County, and just the "Tip of The Iceberg".

The next Mayor of this city will have to look at cutting budgets in their new administration. The same holds true for the Governor. Even while I'm typing this, governor's across the country have begun their attack on Medicaid by slashing, and dropping people from its rolls. Here are the Real "Death Panels" the GOP falsely accused the current administration of bringing in. Yes people, you went to the polls and empowered the GOP to finally phase in the attack on the middle class, lower middle class, and poor.

The State of Utah wants to make "Federal Law" there, "Null and Void". I say to the lawmakers there, good luck with that "Symbolic Action". Your constitutionally elected representatives in Washington will never let that happen. Why? You have Banks, Utilities, and Other Big Business there that just will not stand for such a ridiculous legislative act. Think about it. What if a "Natural Disaster" occurred? You and I both know for a fact, the Senators, and Congressional Representatives will have those hands out looking for "Federal Dollars". What's the point of business men and women "Paying" for political favors, when they can't get "Federal Funds" like, "Subsidies"? What's the point of having a Senator, or Congressman/woman if you don't acknowledge the Federal Government? How are you going to help Real People that do need assistance? Will you Utah, let houses burn to the ground? Will your citizens have to resort to "Wild West Action" for protection when you union bust law enforcement agencies?

In a nutshell folks, it is "Class Warfare". It is class warfare on the working man and women, and the poor in this country brought to you by the wealthy. They have "Paid Off" your elected leaders. Yes, it's just as simple as that. If you don't believe it, just look at what these people, you elected, are saying, and doing. If you are a millionaire, or billionaire, you have nothing to fear. But the rest of America, that 98%, truly do have much to worry about.

If Utah wants to secede from the Union, by bringing up legislation to declare Federal Law "Null and Void", so be it. Find the money to fix the highways, hospitals, schools, law enforcement, fire, paramedics, and any other service you may need. I'd love to see you do that with "Tax Cuts" for the wealthy. Oh that's right, you will just increase taxes on the middle class, lower middle class, and poor. Egypt anyone?
