Ill. House narrowly rejects legalizing medicinal marijuana :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Politics

Ill. House narrowly rejects legalizing medicinal marijuana :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Politics

Who needs to go on a rant? There is only one thing for voters to do in this repugnant situation. Vote these slow-witted dinosaur's out of office.

Have they, no strike that. They have forgotten that we live in the "Information Age". With just the click of a mouse, we can research who the responsible party is for "Banning, and Making Illegal" marijuana in the first place. Yet here we have this dim-witted fossil coming up with the most "Lamest" of excuses.

Check this out: "This concept goes well beyond medical use, medical treatment," said Rep. David Reis (R-Willow Hill). "This is about the legalization of marijuana. I mean, most of the medical treatments that have come about have come about in the last 50 years. Why wasn't this legalized a long time ago? We have the drugs today. We have the ability to do this. But we're sending the wrong message to our children."

What a clueless Boob. 1936 David is when they (Congress), put the smack-down on marijuana. Now do a little math. 1936, to 2010. What do you come up with? If you still come up with "50 years", you sir, do not deserve to be in office.

Voters, do yourself a favor. Vote these dim-witted dinosaur's out of office. They don't give a damn about children, and that should be your clue there. Whenever they say "Think of the Children". They are lying. Need more proof? Remember 1994? School Lunch Program ring a bell? Need More? Unpaid for tax cuts for the wealthy ring a bell?

Time to vote out the fossils.

Homeless man gathered thousands of signatures for both men :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

A Real Estate Developer I can see being sleazy. But a Reverend? Well in this day and age, go figure.

This is the season for sleaze and this preacher should be ashamed of himself. Once busted, what does he do? LIE! How can anyone trust him now?

Like I said, a real estate developer I can envision, They will look for anyway to keep that "Bottom Line" rolling. But Meeks being a preacher, using a homeless person, is beyond repulsive.

Well this is one for the Not To Bright File.

One would hope that there is still some glimmer of brain cells left in humankind, but this clown really test that hope.

Second major drug tunnel found in San Diego in less than a month; marijuana seized, 8 arrested - chicagotribune.com

Funny, you would not have this problem California, had you voted for LEGALIZATION!

Just imagine your economy booming from all the money you would be raking in? Farmers hiring workers, warehouses hiring workers, and I could go on and on about what could have been, but you didn't storm the voting booths. So now here we are finding "Tunnels".

WTF California?

Blacks debate ban on menthol cigarettes - chicagotribune.com

Blacks debate ban on menthol cigarettes - chicagotribune.com

Wow! Good intentions bring about bad outcomes in this article.

We are talking the proverbial "Double Edged Sword" here. I'm going to agree with those opposed to such a ban because of the eventual fallout that will, I say again, will ensue. If there is any doubt about the argument against such a ban, all you have to do is read the article, especially the part on lost revenues cities, and states will lose, and the potential criminal underground market that will emerge.

This excerpt and quote pretty much sums it up:

But banning menthol cigarettes, the company said, would force 30 percent of the cigarette market to go underground and deal a blow to state and federal governments, which would lose $40 billion in excise taxes and settlement fees collected each year from the sale of cigarettes.
"A ban of menthol would not have the consequence of improving public health," said Lorillard spokesman Gregg Perry. "In fact … a ban on menthol cigarettes would fuel an underground criminal enterprise and lead to the illegal sale of more dangerous cigarettes than those now being sold by regulated companies."

Yep, good intentions will surely bring about a bad outcome here.

Illinois prison system bursting at seams with record high of nearly 49,000 inmates - chicagotribune.com

So now you know why "Jails" are less populated. It's nothing more then an old shell game.

A couple of weeks ago, a news report was touting shrinking "Jail Populations". So I mused to myself, I wonder where have they shipped them off? House arrest numbers were not included in this study, nor prison populations. Now we know.

Meeks Burris and Emanuel's renter file for mayor

Meeks Burris and Emanuel's renter file for mayor

Roland Burris? Running for Mayor? WTF!

In my humble opinion, I would believe he would be overwhelmed if he won election to such a position. Now don't get me wrong, the man is an accomplished politician. BUT, of those accomplishments, nothing really stands out. I think he was blind-sided when Blago, pick him. He hasn't lead on any legislation while appointed. He'll have to inform the voters how he will get our Parking Meters back, and the missing TIF money, which I find funny no one has mentioned that subject since it was reported missing. Maybe the guy renting Rahm's old crib might know what happened to that missing money? After-all, he is a developer.

Oh well, Roland Burris running for Mayor. WTF?

TSA chief says no change in screening policy :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Transportation

TSA chief says no change in screening policy :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Transportation

I might as well jump on the "Dumber Then A Bag Of Hammers" bandwagon, with the bone-head of the year move by the TSA, which really could stand for "Totally Stupid Asses".

Here's a suggestion for you people there. Look at the way they do it in Israel. But we all know you will just resist anything that has "Common Sense" applied to it. Everything you do, or touch, is always influenced with the "Bottom Line" in this country. Well the bottom line didn't work so well on 9/11 did it? Now, instead of training people to follow the Israeli model, you chose to go for the nut sack. You would be highly surprised at people's reaction when you JUST ASK THEM QUESTIONS! After-all, like the security consultant said (paraphrasing here), "I'm not flying, you are". Why are you wasting money on a machine that doesn't work?

Follow how they do it in Israel, and stop being "Totally Stupid Asses".

Evictions back on in Cook County :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

Evictions back on in Cook County :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

Here we have a law enforcement official doing the right thing, yet because some Judges are too lazy, they are forcing him back into kicking people out on the streets.

Not one Bank complied with his request for an "affidavit" proving the eviction notices are legitimate. That right there is proof enough that something shady is going on. Keep fighting Sheriff.

Burris farewell: Lack of blacks in Senate 'unacceptable' :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

Burris farewell: Lack of blacks in Senate 'unacceptable' :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

Wake up America! Elect some women, minorities, and watch things get DONE for a change.

Just look at the Senate and what they are doing too you. Look at what they are doing for the Super Wealthy. Look at what they are not doing, for people making $250,000 and less. It's time for all of us to get rid of the "Old Boys Club" and start electing women and minorities too the Senate that will work, "For The People".

Seriously, when is enough of the same old bullshit, finally enough to wake you up America? Fix the streets, sidewalks, give us High Speed rail, fix our bridges, our highways, and for the love of God, clean up our water! What the hell! Water that can be set on FIRE! WTF?

Jail populations drop in big cities :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

Jail populations drop in big cities :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

Interesting article that can seem misleading. When you think about it, that big roundup local, and federal law enforcement did a couple of days ago, might fudge those numbers.

But, as the article states, there are no numbers from state and federal prisons for all of us to look at. Another thing not noted, is the amount of people on "House Arrest", which in my opinion is a big crock, and should be abolished. "Can't do the time, Don't do the crime". Remember that?

Police begin roundup of 100 members of street gang :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

Police begin roundup of 100 members of street gang :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

Well, it's always easier for anyone to say I told you so, but these numskulls will never get it.

They have cameras on the street corners, watching and listening to everything you do. They have the Patriot Act just for trampling over your civil rights. But what do you complete nincompoops do? You hide in plain sight. You hide in alleys, bus stops, small stores, restaurants, and even in front of people's homes you don't even know. How dumb can you be? Get your stupid asses off the streets, go back to school and get a diploma, and find a fucking job! For Christ sake you idiots, this is only the tip of the iceberg. They warned you what was going to come down, but your belligerent asses, to this very day, doesn't believe, SHIT STINKS! Don't blame it on "The Man", it was your dumb ass that dropped out of school.

This is only the beginning dumb-asses. Since you can't think beyond a nano-second, let me help you. Someone has to fill the NEW Prison. Get off the streets, get back in school, and get a job. If you can't do that simple task, I guess, you will never get it.

Voters approve Arizona medical marijuana measure :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Nation

Voters approve Arizona medical marijuana measure :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Nation

Some states get it, some states just don't. I'm talking to you California.

Yes you California could have led the way, and got rid of the most ridiculous law since the Salem Witch hunts. When are we as a people going to learn to stop listening to fake moral leaders? You know who I'm talking about. If you don't, well that list will include religious zealots, politicians, greedy heads of corporations, and the infamous drug suppliers. Anyone that tells you they are against legalizing marijuana (while holding a drink in their hands), is full of it. Hell even our drinking water can be set on fire in some states. I will always advocate for the complete removal of marijuana from the law books. Its historical record of medicinal value cannot be discounted.

Never forget, it was listed as illegal because some rich people viewed it as a threat to their "Bottom Line". Never forget, we are talking millions, perhaps billions of dollars in extra state revenue. I urge employers, should it ever becomes legalized, to use the same standards at the workplace that you have for booze. Doing such will shoot down any false arguments. You can't come to work drunk, so don't even think about coming there high either.

You dropped the ball California, pick it up and run with it.

Cubs public relations battle over bonds - chicagotribune.com

Cubs public relations battle over bonds - chicagotribune.com

Look buddy it's hard to ask us, the taxpayer for supporting this idea when the state is in such dire financial straits.

And then again, we look at the salaries players make, ticket prices. and FOX strong-arming cable, and satellite companies for more nickles and dimes. So in other words, this is a battle that truly is UN-winnable. The best advice I can give you is this. Pay for it yourself. Hell it's your ballpark anyway, and besides, you will just up ticket prices after you pay out more millions for mediocre ball players.

There, problem solved. You are most welcome.

Students wear "Straight Pride" T-shirts during anti-bullying week - chicagotribune.com

Students wear "Straight Pride" T-shirts during anti-bullying week - chicagotribune.com

Question. Are we really getting that dumber as a Nation?

In this instance, you have parents "Forcing" their kids into wearing these shirts. Forcing you question? Why yes, they did. It's the parents that are forcing their own hate and prejudice on their children. Why else would they come too school wearing a shirt letting the entire planet know they hate people that are different from them? The shirt should have read, "Ignorant Pride". These kids are there to get an education, not a "dumbification" (Top That Colbert).

No sane person cares about your sexuality, straight, or gay. Live your life, and stay the fuck out of others. After-all, they are not hurting you. You on the other hand, are letting sane people know how sick, and nosey you are.

Get a life!

Chico, Braun offer plans to improve city finances :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

In all honesty, I like Braun's idea better. That deal stunk into the universe. It was like being lied into a war. And most importantly, it is, and was illegal by the way it was put together.

How many "Public Hearings" were held? Why didn't the people get an opportunity to vote on this, after-all, it was our money? If the next Mayor wants to get the financial house in-order, here's a great suggestion. Pay-Cuts. Yes, pay-cuts for the Mayor, city council, school board, transportation, streets and sanitation, water reclamation, revenue, police, and fire chiefs. All of these department heads do not require such salaries as they continue gutting the people that do the REAL work.

Get our meters back, and for once Sacrifice, and cut those department heads pay.

Times are changing, and this is something I would love learning about more. Hey Indie Energy, if you come across this, please use my home as a test platform. I promise I won't give Com Ed, or People's Gas the finger.

Nearly $5M in cocaine, heroin seized in SW Side drug bust :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

I'm not a fan of this garbage, but the least our elected officials can do, is at the very least look at the possibility of legalization of marijuana.

The bottom line here is that people will continue to get high, on way or the other. We have lost the "War on Drugs". That fight has turned into nothing more then a money pit. It is time for all of us to wake up and have a very serious discussion about this problem.

Yemen orders arrest of radical US-born cleric who has inspired attacks against the West - chicagotribune.com

I see this and ask myself, why hasn't the United States done the same with Osama bin Laden?

I know we have a "contract" on his head, but no "Formal Charges" has been brought against this mental case since September 11, 2001.

Why?

AFTERNOON SPORTS CLUB Will heads roll if Bears lose to winless Bills? :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Sports

AFTERNOON SPORTS CLUB Will heads roll if Bears lose to winless Bills? :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Sports

I normally stay away from topics such as this, unless I'm taking a shot at those "Band-Wagon" Sox/Sucks fans I know. Nevertheless, more then heads should roll after that big giveaway the Bears did two weeks ago.

I sat there in total stunned disbelief as I watched The Bears give that game away. In true conspiratorial reasoning, I deduced the owners of the bears must have owed the Mob some money, henceforth the big giveaway. It truly raised my blood pressure, and as a Black male, that isn't a good thing for us.

The bottom line folks, if they lose this game, I'm going back to Madden 11, create a new franchise, and send the Bears off into oblivion.

Heads must roll from the general manager on down.

Aldermen propose banning alcohol-caffeine drinks :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

It's about time they decided to do something. Now, while you are at it, how about getting our Parking Meters back also?

In the real world, you would have to be pretty dumb to drink something this toxic, knowing full well it isn't healthy for your. You might as well get up in the morning, have a shot of Jack, and coffee. See how long you keep a job doing that. Yet sadly, here we have the old greed merchants "Targeting" the youth, once again, with another mind-altering product. I take it they have a motto that states: Keep them drunk, doped-up, and uninformed. It's worked before, so why not keep trying?

I'm taking a wild guess here but, I think someone way up the social ladder has a kid getting blasted on this stuff, henceforth our local politicians are stepping in. Remember the "Great Crack Epidemic"?

'Batman' nabbed for robbery in Rogers Park :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

I see a trend here. First, a drunk Superman, and "Bat-woman" have a few drinks too many, and now a not-to-bright Batman gets the cuff slapped on him for robbery.

In this tough economy, have our Superheroes gone mad?

Study: Alcohol is the most lethal drug, outranking heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana - chicagotribune.com

Study: Alcohol is the most lethal drug, outranking heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana - chicagotribune.com

And you "Prudes" still have a problem with legalizing Marijuana?

Just look back at history, and what happened when they banned booze. Just look at Mexico, and all the violence happening there. Legalize Marijuana, regulate it, put in place the same workplace rules you have for booze, and tax this weed just like you do tobacco. I cannot stress enough the billions of dollars in State, and City revenues that will flow in.

Look people, you don't have to be a rocket scientist for figuring this out. The only ones against this are the ones that view this as a threat to the money they are making. Remember, the "Lumber, and Newspaper Industry" led the push for criminalizing Marijuana back in the 1930's. Don't let any "Special Interest" keep it going.
