Empty pockets: City has $2.7 million :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

The hits just keep coming with this guy.

Maybe he should consider a pay-cut, along with his city council. Just a thought. Look at what those people in that town in California did, when they found out how much their elected officials were bilking them for.

Daley: Remarks about FBI not 'derogatory' :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

Daley: Remarks about FBI not 'derogatory' :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

Sure it wasn't your Highness. The average person on the street knows it was.

In all honesty Mr. Mayor, I'm still a bit puzzled that you can't go down State and do some hard lobbying for passing a similar RICO law for this city? You, yourself just admitted it's a "Criminal Enterprise". So why are we just charging them like an ordinary criminal? Is it because they will wind up in a Federal Prison System, and the State, and City will lose out on some big bucks? I don't get it. If they are running a criminal enterprise, why not process them as such?

You and the entire police force have files on who is, and is not, a "Known Gang Member" right? So the logical thing for you and law enforcement to do, is go for the jugular, and charge them as such. Some criminals are not that stupid (but then again, we do have some total losers out there). If they know they run the risk of serving a nice 25-30 year stretch, they may rethink going into the criminal enterprise business.

Time to lock them for for more then 10 years (hell, sometimes even less) Mr. Mayor. I suggest you get down State and lobby hard for Longer Sentences for crimes committed with firearms by "Known Gang Members".

You not doing that, is "derogatory".

Wow! Crap like this makes a nation go for an alternative energy source. Once we do, jerks like this will have no leverage.

But then again, the neo-cons would just invade and steal the oil just like they did in Iraq.

Why they won't stop shooting in Chicago :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

This is the most mind-blowing article I've read. I truly hope Mayor Daley, Police Superintendent Weis, Governor Quinn, every Alderman/woman, Village Councils, and every other government institution dealing with law enforcement do the same.

Something has to be done.

Oh for crying out loud! When are these knuckle-dragging dolts going to learn? Why sell of something that brings in Billions of dollars a year to this State, to some greed merchant?

Look no further then Chicago, and see what a very bad idea this would be for the State. All I need to say is two words; Parking Meters. Hope that rings a bell.

In the era of bad ideas, here's just one more.

Police should work on days off to combat gangs: Ald. Burke :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

Police should work on days off to combat gangs: Ald. Burke :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

Burke, I hereby crown you Ass Clown of the Year. While reading this article, I came across this very interesting, and very sane comment. Read Below:

justanotheropinion wrote:
"Lets start by putting Burke back into a patrolman uniform. He used to be a police officer. We can also gain an additional group of officers by cutting out Burke's personal protection detail. All they really do is chauffeur him and hold his coat. We could also cut out Daley's personal protection detail since he believes the city is so safe and after all, Jody Weis tells us the crime rate is the lowest it has been in years.

Then we can cut the Aldermanic positions to 25. One per police district. The Alderman can then spend one shift a week in a beat car. They must be fully trained in firearms since they are allowed to carry guns so I am sure they will be safe. Hey, we can even assign some of the backlog 911 calls to them.

See Mr. Mayor, the city can save lots of money with just a few changes and put additional officers on the street!"

Genetic Mystery: Black British Couple Birth White, Blue-Eyed Baby

Genetic Mystery: Black British Couple Birth White, Blue-Eyed Baby

Who's laughing now? My theory, along with scientific fact, is finally backed up. Many of us have sat around and pondered over the migratory process of our Caucasian relatives out of Africa. It has been documented, and proven that this process began over 50,ooo years ago.

This birth in Britain is just more evidence of such. Now anyone can imagine the surprise an ancient people would have seeing such a miraculous birth. The most prevalent emotion, or emotions would be fear, or superstitions to have such a person banned from the group. Hence the migratory process begins.

There will always be others that will just say, Johnny slipped in the backdoor.

City: More cops are on the way :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

City: More cops are on the way :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

Mayor Daley once again, comes up short.

Here again, this Mayor wasted millions of taxpayer dollars on a futile attempt on getting the Olympics, when it should have gone towards hiring more police. Millions more missing from the "Tax Increment Fund" (TIF), that could have been used towards hiring more police. Money from the disastrous "Parking Meter Sale", that could have been used towards hiring more police.

Why does it takes tragedy, after tragedy for this Mayor to slowly move towards finally doing anything that addresses the blinding, in your face problem this city faces on a day to day basis? From this viewpoint, it appears all he really cares about is stuffing his, and his cronies pockets. Yeah, I know that is harsh. But tell me, what, and why does this Mayor sit on his hands, when he should be down in Springfield pushing for stricter, longer sentences for these criminals with "Illegally Obtained" guns?

I do so hope Mr. Mayor, that you are not considering another run. Maybe, with some luck, should you decide another run, come up short on the vote tally.

Chicago cop: 'Scary' growth of gangs in war zones :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Chicago cop: 'Scary' growth of gangs in war zones :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

This really should not come as a surprise for many. All one needs to do, is just look at soaring prison populations, and the lack, or abandonment of the "Draft".

Gangs have been in the military for years. This new growth in today's military service can be attributed directly towards our fledgling economy. Certain people will put aside such affiliations to gain access into the military, so that their family may benefit financially. Once in, they will flock to member's of past gang affiliations, and begin the bonding process anew.

For those that have returned home seeking an expansion of their criminal enterprise, just reading what the returning officers of law enforcement have to say, they haven't learned anything new. They are still getting caught.

Yes they will eventually return home. Let's just hope a life of crime isn't on their agenda.

NAACP Cites Tea Party Blog Post as Further Confirmation of Racism

There you have it folks. The New Willie Lynch Letter 2010.

For those not familiar with Willie Lynch, please feel free at an internet search on that name. This person is such a bag of garbage, there really is no other words for description. The really sad part about this jerk, is that he really doesn't care. Just look at his pathetic apology, or so-called apology.

Times have definitely changed for most of us. Yet there are still those out there, that just love living in the 18th century, that includes you Sara Palin. Remember what you said when you left Hawaii? Too many Asians there for your liking. I've always stated that with these changes in time, the evolution of racism has also changed. What you don't see is the sheets anymore. They don't need them. Just listen to what, and how they say things.

The Pain Index: 10 states placing the largest budget burden on residents

The Pain Index: 10 states placing the largest budget burden on residents

This is a mind-blowing article. The big question that people should really look at, is what these State Governments did with that "Stimulus Money"?

This particular paragraph stood out for myself:

U.S. News & World Report''s pain index takes a look at places like my hometown, where residents are spending more on taxes yet seeing less in services. It takes into account state tax increases and spending cuts in each state since 2009 and notes that over the past three years, states have cut their budgets by nearly $50 billion -- the biggest reversal of state spending since the Great Depression -- and raised taxes by another $30 billion or so. All of these measures have been taken despite the $250 billion in stimulus aid that the federal government doled out to the states in 2009."

Daley Gun law 'reasonable' despite lawsuits challenging it

Daley Gun law 'reasonable' despite lawsuits challenging it

Well that's proof right there this Mayor doesn't care about the taxpayer.

He would rather waste taxpayer dollars defending unreasonable portions of his quickly slapped together new ordinance, then spend on things like education, and crime. Talk about out of touch. Someone should ask him if a criminal thinks his new ordinance is unreasonable? Of course they don't. They can go anywhere and buy a gun. But the law abiding citizen must jump through hoops, by spending hundreds of dollars, most of which the city doesn't get, just to protect themselves (family included) and their property.

Notice the cavalier attitude? "Fine". So it's fine by you Mr. Mayor that the city is facing more lawsuits? It truly must be fine Mr. Mayor when you know that you will not get stuck with the bill.

Chicago’s new gun ordinance goes into effect :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Chicago’s new gun ordinance goes into effect :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Well with a fresh new round of lawsuits for this "New Ordinance", it still appears this Mayor, and his lock-step city council will forever refuse to listen to their constituents.

The ordinance is lacking in just a few aspects, that should have been addressed by the city council. But as usual, they left their collective brains at home. Why would they let taxpayer dollars fly out of the city for "training, and range classes into the surrounding suburbs? Isn't this Mayor screaming broke? The Mayor wants your property tax money, but tells you what you can and cannot do on your very own private property. Isn't that unconstitutional? Sounds pretty unreasonable, doesn't it? And why on earth would they not give an exemption to active duty, and veterans from "classroom, and range training"?

For some strange reason, we elected you people to represent us, not your own self-interest. But it is apparent that you really don't care about what we the people want. So come election time, we will show you, when we hit the voting booths, that it pays to listen to your constituents.

Is Chicago throwing away $1 million on recycling carts? :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

Is Chicago throwing away $1 million on recycling carts? :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

Obvious answer is always yes. A year ago when I started this little strange, yet true observation page, I informed the readers of the tricks the Board of Education does when it comes to getting, and wasting money.

For those that have forgotten, the print and video news media especially, they "stockpile" items also. That would include coffee, sugar, pencils, pens, computers, and any other item you might see when visiting a school. Then they would go back and say, see, we spent the allotted money, now gives us more. The police department, down the street from where I live, has not one, but two "Blue" trash cans, in the alley, not totes, or carts as they call them. The rest of the neighborhood, none.

When it comes to trampling on citizens rights, missing Tax Increment Funds (TIF), bulldozing airfields, and selling city services, this Mayor doesn't give a rats ass what the people think, or care. He's proven it time and time again with his lock-stepping city council. He would rather waste tax payer dollars defending his horrendous decisions in court, as opposed to just doing what is right, and fair for the citizens of Chicago.

Now we just need for the print and video journalist to track down the Board of Educations "stockpile" locations. They have only touched the proverbial "tip of the iceberg". What really makes this a head-scratching scenario for residents, is the fact that this Mayor, cut, I say again, cut trash pick-up throughout the city. Now he wants to implement "Curb-Side" pick-up? Imagine that just piling up along the front of your home or apartment?

Yeah, Mr. Mayor, let's continue bilking the citizens for all they have. Maybe they should put a camera in that big eye downtown, and turn it right on city hall.

This is just dumber then a bag of hammers. I am certainly coming to think that some people just don't think, regardless of the level of education received.

In another just dumb and proud of it moment, Mark Kirk made a feeble attempt at trying to slam his opponent for "Not Paying Taxes"! Guess he should have took the time to read the article. His opponent received a "Refund". That's how the tax system works. Anyway, that still doesn't take away the meat-head move this Governor made. You do not pass out pay raises when your budget is strapped for cash.

There you go folks, two imbeciles, just dumber then a bag of hammers.

Police seize $1.5M in heroin, millions in cash on NW Side :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Police seize $1.5M in heroin, millions in cash on NW Side :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

With the city always crying broke, have you ever wondered where does that money go? Is it split between the State, City, and Federal system? If the bust happens in the city does it keep the money? And if so, what do they do with it?

We know the dope gets burned. But how is that money dealt with? Will the Mayor put some of it back into the "Missing" Tax Increment Fund (TIF)? Will some of it go to Chicago Public Schools? More then likely it will wind up in somebody's pocket. There is very little trust in this Mayor.

Since you have stepped into the digital age Mayor, how about posting where this money goes? The public has a strong right to know. Show us the money.

The next few days will reveal all for the parties interested. Just look for movement by these players, and management. Should another meeting take place by Wednesday, one could pretty much guess what team these free agents will probably end up.

City Council passes Daley gun restrictions 45-0

City Council passes Daley gun restrictions 45-0

Well the sheep (city council) fell in line with the King once again. No amendments exempting active duty, and veteran members of the Armed Forces from attending firearms classes. What an insult.

It should come as no surprise the city council would move on this ordinance as their King commanded. They have no spine whatsoever. The sad part about them, is that they, just like the King, don't care about the burden taxpayers face from a fresh round of lawsuits that will come from this super hasty passage. A perfect example is the fact no person has to undergo "Training", when purchasing a rifle or shotgun. All you had to do was go register the thing. So what will they do now? Slap that one omission within the ordinance? And why do we have to go "Outside" the city, pay money to another town, or village? Talk about "Unreasonable".

Have you ever wondered why so few city council members run for Mayor of this city? Why should they? They never initiate anything. Well, the only exception is the alderman that put his foot down and got his Wal Mart. But other then that, all they do is suck up our taxpayer funds, and do what the King tells them un-questioned.

One would think these elected lackeys would at the very least, have the intelligence to look out for members of the Armed Forces. Yet after reading the article, not one of them broached the subject, nor offered an amendment. They just went right along with what their King commanded, no questions asked. What a disservice to the members of the best highly trained people on the planet.

Daley unveils gun control plan

Daley unveils gun control plan

Well here's his plan, and already it has one major flaw. You can buy a rifle, or shotgun, or both, and do not, I repeat, do not have too take training classes, or range training.

Somehow I knew this guy would screw it up. That one little flaw will once again open the door to lawsuits. Let's hope the police, and fire council will fix that. On another note, he obviously forgot about active duty, and veterans when it comes to this "classroom and range training". Does this mayor have something against the military? Doesn't, or does his own son serve or served? Again I call on the city to "Exempt" active duty and veterans from this insult.

Look Mayor, don't become the Mitch McConnell of Chicago and spit in the military's face. I hope you are aware of what that sleaze did? If not, he blocked funding for "Homeless veterans and their families".

Police and Fire committees, exempt active duty, and veterans from this insult.
