Daley pushing for more liquor at Chicago airports :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Transportation

Daley pushing for more liquor at Chicago airports :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Transportation

You have to hand it too this Mayor. One million in Tax Increment Funds (TIF) go missing in action, his unconstitutional hand gun ban gets overturned after 30 years, a 10 year old gets shot by a gang-banger riding a bike, and now he wants people drunk at the airports.

Have you noticed not one plan for jobs in the city? We get nothing but gimmicks from this Mayor. Oh, I forgot, and a big shiny bean. One alderman fought for his ward, and finally got a Wal Mart. Those are jobs people (bean counters) can count, feel, and see.

So what we have here, is a Mayor that can't ram through his city council, a jobs plan, but more gimmicks, and distractions for the city. A lowly punk riding a bike on a city street, carrying a concealed hand gun, can fire away in a crowd of innocent children where one gets struck in the leg, and all you can come up with Mayor, is more booze sales. What happened to all those cameras with the "Gun shot detectors"? Why are there not enough cameras at these "Hot Spots"? Will your plan of selling more booze garner enough funds to buy more cameras?

Enough already Mr. Mayor. Do what you do best and gangster your city council into pushing a jobs plan. Enough of the booze peddling. We've been drunk enough, and now we are sober. Get that missing money back, send the responsible party to prison, and don't get all crazy on the newly overturned gun ruling.

City Hall could limit number of guns allowed in a home

City Hall could limit number of guns allowed in a home

Now comes the tricky part for the Mayor and the cities law department. They both knew, and were fully aware the ban was unconstitutional. What really surprised them, was how long they were able to get away with it.

They should be aware when beginning modification, of this unconstitutional ban, there are certain phrases within the Constitution. Phrases like; unreasonable, and excessive are perfect examples. When they decide to hold discussions, these two phrases should come too mind. Now, one thing that must be addressed, is this "making people that purchase a handgun be subjected to some form of training". That's all fine and good for those that truly are in need of such training, but, and this is only my opinion, military personnel, active and those with veteran status, should be exempt from such training.

All the other ideas they are floating out to the press, and media is fine. There should be "criminal, and mental" background checks. There should be "ballistic testing". And most importantly, there must be a registration process. Holding training classes will be a bit of a stretch for this city, since our Mayor continues to cry broke. It doesn't make much sense for city residents to flock towards the suburbs to pay for training classes. That's money this city could use. No offense suburbanites.

So now that the Mayor and his top law official are getting together and attempting to figure out a "Reasonable", Not "Excessive" gun legislation, please consider giving those that currently serve, and those that have served, a little consideration, and exempt them from any "Training Classes". After-all, we get the best training in the industrialized world, and it's akin to learning how to ride a bike. We never forget.

Code of silence alive and well here :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Carol Marin

This article should be a wake up call for all those ill-informed mouth breathers screaming for less government.

When your own city and state turns a blind eye to crimes against its own citizens, it's always the federal government that has to clean up the mess. Read this article, and stay informed.

Daley ready to respond if Chicago's handgun ban overturned :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

Daley ready to respond if Chicago's handgun ban overturned :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

Damn! I couldn't have said it any better then Alderman Burke. Mayor Daley is poised to do his famous money grab once this unconstitutional ban is struck down. And trust me, it will get struck down.

I've stated before, any law abiding citizen does not have a problem with registering their gun purchase. They do not have a problem with having ballistic test either. But the do have a problem with a Mayor that doesn't, I repeat, doesn't have a facility within city limits that could provide for weapons training. All of that money will go straight to the suburbs, not the city. Economics 101 King Daley. If you make citizens go and pay for training, your crying broke will continue. Just stop trying to find new ways for fleecing decent law abiding citizens with such a crazy idea of weapons training, when the city will not profit from it.

Stick with registering guns, and ballistic test. That way our law enforcement will have the knowledge of tracking down stolen guns. Do yourself a favor, and listen, or read the alderman's quote. In the event you missed it, here it is again. It's so true.

“Just in the last 60 days, we’ve seen three instances where law-abiding citizens who had possession of a weapon in their home shot and/or killed violent offenders in their home or in the vicinity of their home. It’s noteworthy that no one has prosecuted those law-abiding citizens. Probably, we oughta pass a city ordinance and give ‘em each a medal.”

In that sense, Burke argued that a city registration put in place after the ban is overturned might be an improvement.

“Nobody can register it, so the city doesn’t know. Is it not better that the city knows who has a gun?” the alderman said.

Here's a prediction. A deal will be reached with Mexican, and US politicians, military, and law enforcement, that will have "Armed" drones.

It's just a matter of time, and you will read, or see on the idiot box of a drone killing drug traffickers. Any bets?

Daley urges Wal-Mart to raise minimum wage :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

Daley urges Wal-Mart to raise minimum wage :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

8.75 an hour is really an insult in such inflationary times. Break it down and we are talking 18 thousand a year, before taxes.

After taxes, federal and state, it's even less. Now picture yourself raising a family of any size, or being single, paying rent, groceries, utility bills, transportation cost, and clothing. At 8.75 an hour, it's just another example of economic slavery.

It appears that corporations are still living in the 1970's. Hell with that wage maybe even the 1870's. Wake up greed merchants. The stuff you sell has tripled in price since those times. How do you expect workers to maintain a decent life with such a depressing wage. 8.75 an hour will never break the paycheck to paycheck cycle.

Give these potential employees a decent wage. It helps communities, it instills pride. Don't spit in their faces, and treat them as slaves with such an insulting 8.75 an hour.

54 shot in latest violence :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

54 shot in latest violence :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

So with all this happening over the weekend, our Mayor decides to use 25 million bucks in federal money for targeting schools, that are out for the summer.

It would make much more sense for using such funds for a Fully Staffed police department. But King Daley, as usual, does the opposite. This violence is the end result of this Mayor's Failed, and unconstitutional hand gun ban. I've said many times that law abiding citizens have no problem with background, ballistic, and any other kind of identification process checks. As long as they do not possess an unconstitutional financial burden for the owner. It's the criminals that don't care. All you have to do, is just look at the trail of violence they leave behind.

With that said, Mr. Mayor, school is out for the summer, police are under staffed. Use this money wisely. Get together with the District, and State Attorney's across the land, and come up with stronger sentencing legislation for these criminals violating gun laws.

ACORN: GAO Investigation Finds No Misuse of Federal Dollars

ACORN: GAO Investigation Finds No Misuse of Federal Dollars

Vindication is sweet, isn't it? But what about all those that went the extra step and vilified this now defunct organization? What does one do about them? Those elected members of congress, and the talking meat-heads on radio and the boob-tube?

In the civilian world, the vile spewed from these mouth-breathers would be considered slanderous, and defaming. They would pay a hefty price, because a guilty verdict would be reached swiftly. But alas, they are still there, unapologetic even after this defunct organization has been cleared of any wrong-doing in case after case.

What it really boils down to is a classic battle of the "Haves versus the Have-Nots'". Theses "Haves" don't, and never will care about their fellow human regardless of gender. As long as they don't live next door to them, everything is fine in their world. Yet, when the poor begin picking themselves up and bettering life around them, the wealthy begins to feel threatened. They of course retaliate with economic trickery to slow such progression by people that only seek a better life.

Destroying and defaming ACORN gave them that brief respite. That organization did only one thing, and that was help people understand their rights, get affordable housing, and understand the voting process. In a nutshell, all they did was making sure people were informed. And that my friends is a big "NO" for the wealthy.

A wise person once said" "The good die young, but pricks live forever." Look at all those pricks still around, even after ACORN has been shuttered.

Does the GOP Side with BP?

Does the GOP Side with BP?

What a very dumb question. Of course they do. We have all heard the nonsensical garbage spewing from their idiotic mouths.

Only one of them made made sense. That was the congressman from Louisiana. He gave them a very brief history lesson. In Feudal Japan, if you brought shame to anyone, including yourself, your duty was to commit Hara Kiri. In communist China, they would just hand you a death sentence, and make your family pay for the bullets.

This company has done something that has destroyed an ocean, lives, and livelihoods. Now why on earth would anyone with a rational thinking brain, side with them? The only ones that do, are no other then Satan's minions. From Barton, all the way down to Beck and Limbaugh, they serve Satan/Lucifer, and no other.

All you have to do is just listen.

Obama says Republicans adding to woes for unemployed; GOP slams White House over oil response - chicagotribune.com

Obama says Republicans adding to woes for unemployed; GOP slams White House over oil response - chicagotribune.com

Some people get it, and some people don't. Republicans could care less about the poor, poor working class, and middle class people.

They have consistently proven this age-old argument with their selfish actions. Tax cuts, and corporate welfare for the wealthy. They have destroyed the manufacturing base by subsidizing corporations to ship jobs overseas. They didn't care that the so-called prescription drug program wasn't paid for, nor the wars in Iraq, and Afghanistan. Now with people losing jobs and homes at alarming rates, they don't care. They claim giving the American people assistance, is akin too laziness, and a free lunch. They just love giving that free lunch to oil, insurance, and financial institutions.

They will always look out for the wealthy. That group of people only represent 5% of the population. With such a small minority, doesn't it make sense to elect a Congress that represents the other 95% of Americans? You know the ones facing job losses, and foreclosure? If you don't live in a "Gated Community", stop voting for people who don't have your best interest at heart. Vote for people that will fight on your behalf. These republican hooligans are nothing more then Satan's minions. If you don't believe that, just look, and listen at the vile rhetoric that spew from their mouths. Deuteronomy, chapter 15 instructs the wealthy that "at the end of every seven years, thou shalt make a release/forgive". They haven't. And boy are they going to look really silly.

Remember these minions of Satan on election day. They don't care about you, unless you have a lot of money.

$20M marijuana bust is one of Cook Co.'s largest :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

$20M marijuana bust is one of Cook Co.'s largest :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Hey budget deprived States and cities, do the math. 20 million bucks, multiplied at 10 bucks for a pack of 20 (like cigarettes), and include your 10% sales tax, license tax, business tax, vendor tax, entertainment tax, and all the other nonsensical taxes you can think of, and your budgets are out of the red.

You so-called elected officials already know that 20 million will double, or even triple in profit for your coffers if you do the math right.

Legalize marijuana, and you take out the criminal enterprise. These clowns on the streets do not have planes, trucks, and boats that bring this stuff here. You and all the rest of us know how it gets here. Bribes, and incompetence is how. So stop acting like you are baffled. The "War on Drugs" is a complete failure. Legalize marijuana, tax the hell out of it, and get your budgets in order so you can have fully staffed police, fire, paramedics, teachers, and mental health facilities.

Investigation: City paid for worker's prison time

Oh gee, not again! We have workers helping relatives tear-down garages, cracking foundations so they can get it done on the taxpayers back. Now this, and who knows what other shenanigans going on in our "Trustworthy" city hall.

Where's the Mayor? Shouldn't he be on the Idiot Box stating that all that embarrass him should be terminated? Seems logical for myself. After-all, these are his peep's that got such jobs from cronyism. And now that I think about it, did we ever get our taxpayer funds back from the people over at emergency call center?

Oh well. Good old trustworthy city hall. What will they get busted for next?

City worker suspended over garage teardown :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

City worker suspended over garage teardown :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

We all know this is only the "Tip of the Iceberg". You should not be surprised that crap such as this goes on all the time at city hall.

This disgrace should have been fired. But oh no, she is still on the taxpayers dime. And by the way, when will taxpayers get their money back for this work? Will they take it out of her paycheck? Will they go after the relative, that used city workers? Will they charge the relative with Fraud for "Cracking the foundation" prior to city workers arriving at the location? For some strange reason, I think not. Just look at the outcome. She still has a job, the relative hasn't been charged with fraud, and Mayor Daley isn't doing anything about it.

Just imagine this going on in other departments. She got a slap on the wrist, and the taxpayer is left high and dry. Other employees seeing this lack of action will take it as a sign, that business as usual is still the predominate factor at city hall, and the taxpayer doesn't matter. They need to fire this person, and charge the relative with fraud. If not, expect this crap to continue happening at city hall.

Japanese Asteroid Probe Makes Historic Return to Earth

Japanese Asteroid Probe Makes Historic Return to Earth

For all the science loving geeks out there, this mission, if any dust, rock, or grain did manage hitching a ride back, may lead us down another technology explosion.

Scientist have already discovered (by accident), that diamonds can be made in a vacuum. That type of knowledge will lead to faster computers, smarter phones, and a host of other applications. As for myself, I love this kind stuff, but was a bit dismayed that our media didn't pick up such an important story. The knowledge gained from such missions is enormous, and will help scientist gain a better understanding of the composition of asteroids, comets, and meteoroids.

Haunting Photo of Slave Children Found in North Carolina Attic

Know thy history America, and never forget. Never forget what was done to Native Americans. Never forget the deaths of Asian Americans building the railroad lines. Never forget the dehumanization of African Americans. Never forget how you treated the Irish, and Italians when they came here seeking a better life.

Remember who you are, and how you came too be. Stop the hatred and live in peace for once in your life. If you continue down this path of hatred toward your fellow man, and woman, remember one thing. What comes around, goes around. Do unto others as you would have done unto you. Stop lying, hating, and deceiving others. There is nothing good that will come from such acts.

Forgive, but never forget.

Chicago Teachers Union to sue over class sizes :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Education

Chicago Teachers Union to sue over class sizes :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Education

This should not come as a surprise for anyone. We all know that King Daley is behind forcing the Board of Education lackey's into forcing larger classrooms.

This Mayor seems to have an utter disregard for standing law. There are numerous examples of his snubbing law from destroying Miegs Field, an unconstitutional hand gun ban, and letting his appointed minions do whatever they want with our water. You remember the "contractor" that got busted using city water for his underhanded dealings? And let us never forget the shameful waste of taxpayer dollars for an Olympics that every sane citizen knew the city would never get.

So now he tells his minions to go forth and jack the teachers around. Close some schools, lay some teachers off, but don't you dare take away the two (2) vehicles the superintendent needs, even though we the people are paying this guy over $200 grand a year. With that kind of salary, he could buy his own mode of transportation.

You are doing a heck of a job King Daley. Yes, let's jam all these kids into larger classrooms, and put the pressure on the teachers for better performance. That sounds like a great idea. It will only lead to more kids dropping out, and selling dope on the streets. No wonder the County is still hiring for correctional officers.

44 police officers reassigned to street duty to combat summer crime :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

44 police officers reassigned to street duty to combat summer crime :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

Mayor Stuntman is at it again. If lottery proceeds are supposed to go in the "General Education Fund", why are teachers being cut? What happened to all that money for the parking meters, and the "Sky-Way? If money is the issue, why hasn't this Mayor taken a pay-cut? Why are all of the alderman, county board, and all of their department heads, haven't taken a pay-cut?

In tough times, leadership becomes the norm. But what do we see from our elected officials? We see, and hear nothing but double-speak, and flat out lies. We see simple cowardice, because they refuse to demonstrate any leadership for taking a pay-cut.

Once again the Mayor is getting officers that really have no business being behind a desk doing a job a civilian should do. How do these officer get these jobs anyway? Cronyism that's how. But I digress. This Mayor is a piece of work. I thought this move was done years ago. But the minute you blink your eye, it's business as usual for this city.

Take a pay-cut elected officials. Show some leadership for a change.
