Mom allegedly whipped child with extension cord :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Mom allegedly whipped child with extension cord :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Call me cold, but this is why youth are out of control, and running amok on the streets. They know a whipping will set them free to disrespect adults in authority.

I don't care if she used a belt, razor strap, or an extension cord. This lady took a stand against an un-disciplined kid. The child was told not to use the phone, and disobeyed the parent. What was she supposed too do? Give her a "Time-Out"? That bull crap doesn't work. If your kid knows you mean business, they will grow up and be more disciplined, and responsible. We call that teaching a child right from wrong.

Now the mother gets charged, and this un-disciplined child will use the phone when she feels like it. Who wins?

You can now bet, this un-disciplined kid will be running amok on the streets.

Daley: Send gun industry lawsuit to World Court :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Politics

Daley: Send gun industry lawsuit to World Court :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Politics

WTF???

So what are we paying State, and District Attorney's for? Can't they get together and come up with a "Database" linked-up with the entire state for tracking who's buying these guns, especially at the un-regulated gun shows? Last time I checked there are no gun stores in Chicago. So what, guns sprout legs and walk into the city? I don't think so.

And for the love of Christ, don't give me that "Privacy" under the Constitution rant. Law abiding citizens have no problem with databases. The National Rifle Association does. A database lets law enforcement know who has purchased guns "Legally". And, it let's them know when a gun is stolen.

Guns don't walk into cities across America, people buy, and bring them. It's the American citizens "Right" too know who's violating the law, and have them prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. That's what our tax dollars should be paying for. Not a bunch of "Do-Nothing", Can't-Get-Together, State and District Attorney's. We voted them in to uphold and address the law. Not the National Rifle Association.

Daley: National Guard only a 'Band-Aid' solution to crime :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

Daley: National Guard only a 'Band-Aid' solution to crime :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

Oh great, Captain Cut-Resources, gives his 2 cents. Hey Mayor, you sold a bridge, and parking meters, but can't find any money for fully staffing the police departments.

You just let the "Arbitrator" rule in your favor, and you still can't fully staff the police departments. You have gutted personnel in various departments, yet continue paying your head-honchos overblown salaries. Where's the money going? You blew millions of tax-payer dollars on a non-refundable Olympics. Why?

Sure the military has it's own rules. It's called "The Uniform Code of Military Justice". And yes, by them being under "Federal Jurisdiction" it will "Trump" the State. The bottom line here, is that these bozo's are out of control. You need tougher sentencing guidelines. You need the States Attorney, and District Attorney's coming together, and for once, finally cooperate on a database for tracking gun ownership. Lastly, pass legislation using background checks at these "Gun Shows".

If you don't get serious, these criminals will continue exploiting our current laws. But mostly, and importantly, stop gutting, and cutting law enforcement. Since you can find money to spend, and give-away, for things we don't need, you better get serious and find the money to staff police at 100%.

Lawmakers want National Guard to handle violence in city :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

Lawmakers want National Guard to handle violence in city :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

After careful consideration, I say go for it.

Last night in the Austin neighborhood, a gang of rowdy teens ran amok blocking traffic, yelling, and screaming as if all sanity was taken from them. I'm sure many calls for law enforcement intervention were made. Yet, for nearly a half an hour, not one patrol car came. After the un-disciplined youths shattered someones car window, they quickly dispersed like roaches when lights are turned on. After the knuckleheads dispersed, I noticed about 10 patrol cars heading north on Central Avenue, about another half an hour later.

I thought about the camera police have installed on the corner of Madison and Central and surmised, they must have seen all this anarchy, the participants, and vehicles involved. This made myself reason, that may be why they did not respond to those calls from either 311, the "non-emergency" number, and 911, when those unruly clowns blocked traffic on a "Major Avenue".

Probably the saddest thing that occurred during this event, I saw not one parent, I say again, Not One Parent out there grabbing their idiotic children off the streets. It makes one wonder, have parents, or guardians given up?

So after careful consideration, I say go for it. This must end.

Ariz. law 'an insult to American justice' :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Politics

Ariz. law 'an insult to American justice' :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Politics

Talk about just dumb. But what else can you expect from those that hate?

The last administration tried a major attempt at immigration reform, but the hate-mongers threw their non-thinking caps into the ring, and alas it died in the Senate. Under the wishful thinking tree, one would think they could blow the dust off the old Kennedy-McCain bill, and re-introduce it back on the Senate floor. Hell, it's much better then starting from scratch. With the old legislation, they can at the very least use it as a template. The only problem with such a scenario, it makes sense. And you can bet your bottom dollar, anything that makes sense, normally doesn't work well in Congress.

Naturally this un-constitutional legislation (can't bring myself to call it a law), will not prevail. It's too broad, and sweeping with generalities. The bottom line is, this injustice puts more unnecessary strain on law enforcement as it is. And besides, where is Arizona going to come up with the funds to pay for all that overtime? Maybe another property tax increase from those fiscally responsible conservatives? How else can they pay for police? With hate? I don't think so.

In all honesty, creeps like this, makes a person wish for the return of burning at the stake. I'm not sorry. Life in prison is way too good for these creeps.

We'll all feel pension pain :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES ::

We'll all feel pension pain :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES ::

I can't help but get steamed when I see stories of this sort. If only the "Worker" had the ability to put their hard-earned money into "Savings Accounts", without being muscled into "Employee Contributions" that they have little or no control of. It just stinks, when any "Appointed" Tom, Dick, or Harry, can "Dip" into those funds without the "Unanimous Consent" of employee's, no matter what industry one works in.

When things spiral out of control to such a level as this, workers have to take into consideration if "Trusting" their employer's, and unions, with their hard-earned money is worth the risk? The way things are going, it would appear that the worker should refrain from giving them their money, and just saving, or investing it themselves. After-all, it's their retirement, not the companies or unions. When you really think about it, it's the workers of these pension funds that gets a double tax whammy. And by the way, why should the taxpayer get screwed for some dummies mis-use of those funds anyway? Did you get "Unanimous Consent" from the people in those pension funds? I doubt it.

For those that yammer, "Take our Country back", I think it's about time you took your money back and put it into a savings account. That's what saving for retirement was all about, not a ponzi scheme.

Police to target hot spots, put chill on summer crime :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

Police to target hot spots, put chill on summer crime :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

The old turn the lights on and watch the roaches scatter routine. We've been there and done that.

Everyone knows when things of this nature is done, they just move to another area. Fact, when they put up the cameras, they (drug dealers, and users) fled too bus stops and alley's. Others became more inventive, and created this "drive-up service", where the dealer comes too your residence. Police have busted an operation like that about a week, or two ago.

But the big problem law enforcement faces, is these punks getting access to these guns. Who's buying them? If we have a "National Database", this could be tracked. And better yet, such purchases require "Income". So wake up Internal Revenue Service. A twenty-something youth with no job, walks into a gun store, or gun show and makes "Cash Purchases"? What the hell good is a background check?

Our District, and States Attorney's need a little meeting, and come up with a tougher sentencing guideline for these cowardly punks using guns. Shoot one off, 10 years, no and, if, or but about it. Kill someone, Life. Sorry, goodbye, should have used that last brain-cell. Stop coddling these idiots, and crack down hard. It's not rocket science folks. People are not that stupid. Well, there will always be an exception or two.

But the bottom line here, go right ahead and make them scatter. But you better get real serious about how these punks are getting these weapons. Follow the Money.

Advocates, pot brownies on hand at Marijuana Expo :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Nation

Advocates, pot brownies on hand at Marijuana Expo :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Nation

Like I've stated before, when this ballot initiative passes in California, be on the look-out for for other states following suit. Rumor patrol from the blogs have Oregon looking into similar ballot initiatives, or down-right active legislation. Contrary for all the fear-mongers, and religious zealots out there, you cannot argue over State budget deficits, and a "Multi-Billion Dollar a Year Industry".

Marijuana was made illegal in 1936 via the infamous lobbyist during that time period for their own self-interest. Governments were not that bright back then, because all you have to do is look at what "Prohibition" did. And that, as we all know came to it's demise. So too must the ban of marijuana come too an end. If something isn't working, it must be fixed. Legalize marijuana, and fix your State budgets.

span style="font-size:11px;display:block;margin-bottom:2px;" class="redtext"AFTERNOON SPORTS CLUB /spanSad to say, but Cubs are stuck with Soriano :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Cubs

From time to time it's good talking about something other than our crooks, and politicians. Well, sometimes it is kind of hard telling with is the crook, and which is the politician. But happily baseball season is upon us now, and that can only mean warmer weather, and cry-baby sports writers.

Here we haven't even played 10 games into the season, and we have our resident sports writing screaming doom and gloom. Their latest demon that must be exorcised is Alphonso Soriano. Come on fellows, not even 10 games? Can't you wait till oh let's say July, or August? If you want to start yammering about a player or two, that hasn't even got a month under their respective belts, how about that growing ERA on the other side of town? What's his name again? Pissy? Oh yeah, Peavy. Yeah that's the guy. Big contract, like Soriano. Two bad outings, like Soriano. Yet I don't hear, or see you guys calling for his head on a platter.

Relax sports writers, it's only April, sit-back, pop a cold one and wait till the summer if you want heads on a chopping block. Stop crying, it's way too soon.

More%20liquor%20could%20flow%20at%20lakefront%20parks

Boy this Mayor is something else. He's willing to let people get sloppy drunk, just to glean away more tax dollars. But will not give up his idiotic waste of taxpayer dollars fighting to keep his idiotic gun ban.

Here's your scenario. Drunkard starts shooting at the lakefront. Naturally the weapon used was illegally obtained. That's because these bozo politicians, and District Attorney's refuse to strengthen current law with a National Database. Ask yourself this. What's the National Rifle Association (NRA) has against working with Law Enforcement? Why do they support criminals, and the mentally unstable the ability to obtain firearms without background checks? Why are they in favor of not having background checks at "Open Gun Show"? Money and ignorance, that's why.

Now Mr. Mayor wants to allow more drunkards along the lakefront, making spectacles of themselves, and possibly injuring citizens that just wanted some time to enjoy a pleasant day, or evening. Well I guess this is what we the voters get when we let people like this Mayor run rough-shod on his citizenry. We have criminals and the mentally unbalanced running around shooting innocent civilians, and law enforcement, and this guy wants more public drunkenness to exacerbate the problem.

I wonder what the Clergy around here think of this "Brain-Storm" Mr. Mayor? Idiotic indeed.

Juvenile justice: Youths held in juvenile prisons past their release dates - chicagotribune.com

This is just one of those stories that make you scratch your head in bewilderment. Just think for a moment. If it's happening here, it certainly is happening all around the country.

States are crying broke. Just look at the number of youths being held in Illinois and multiply that by state. This is one of those stories that fly under the radar, until other states begin looking into this problem. Our cities, counties, villages, and states should not be spending money on giant beans, and bridges going nowhere. They should be spent on the opportunity of saving a youth. That should never be a democratic, or republican issue. That is a common-sense issue.

Having these youths languish in a system after serving their time is indefensible, despite the fact family members don't want anything to do with them. Funds should be provided to build reasonable facilities for the ones that have been rehabilitated, and wish a continuation of educational endeavors.

There really is no excuse for this kind of treatment.

Read the article. This is a story that one could definitely put in the WTF category.

Obama Counterpunches After Palin's Jab on Nukes - AOL News

Obama Counterpunches After Palin's Jab on Nukes - AOL News

This is going to be an interesting argument. The President is correct in his assessment of Palin. Keith Olbermann is also correct when he exclaimed; "She is an idiot". They can also put Newt Gingrich in that category, and anyone else that is against this treaty.

Here's what these not-too-bright individuals don't know, or really don't care to know. North Korea is also against this treaty. With that being said, one can deduce, that Sara, Newt, and others, are siding with North Korea with their opposition of this treaty. Talk about unpatriotic. Going another step down the unpatriotic path, Iran is also against this treaty. So I guess the next question any reporter should ask these not-too-bright individuals is; "With your opposition to this treaty, are you in agreement with North Korea, and Iran?" That is an answer I would love hearing.

Who would have ever thought the day would come, when people in the Republican Party would side with North Korea, and Iran when it came to supporting a nuclear arms treaty?

This is not only unpatriotic, it's also idiotic.

Lawmakers Grapple with Booming Medical Marijuana Business -- Politics Daily

Lawmakers Grapple with Booming Medical Marijuana Business -- Politics Daily

Aye Yo! Mayor Daley, Governor Quinn, you constantly cry broke, yet I see you two can't get together and do a little research into this industry. What gives?

You guys prefer sacrificing teachers, law enforcement, medical, and social personnel, rather your own overpaid department heads and staff. You guys prefer raising taxes on property, and individuals, rather than go after profit bloated utilities like the wretched Com Ed, Nicor, People's Gas, and all the other off-shoots from these entities. And please don't get me started on Cable, Satellite, and Telecommunications.

We all have heard the flimsy excuses of "Gateway Drug", yet to this very day, no person has come up with any evidence proving such. Those of us that know the history for its banning, can trace it back to those "Scare Tactics", and political payoffs by the Newspaper Magnet William Randolph Hearst, with that "Reefer Madness" propaganda flick. Boy, that crap was indeed a piece of work. We sure were pretty dumb back then.

So again I ask, what gives? Do you two not understand that opening up Marijuana Medical Dispensaries will help the city and state generate revenue? Hell, the both of you could even push for out-right legalization and gain additional revenue generating potential. Are both of you that out of touch with modernization, and changing times? Go ahead, launch an "Exploratory Committee". Hell, I'll be glad becoming the first, serving on it. You can't claim I'm biased, because I don't smoke marijuana. Yet, I do know what a bonus this will become for your coffers, so you two can continue placating your department heads, and staff. And you know what? It will save those jobs of the people that actually do real work.

What gives?

Alleged bank robber, thwarted by dye pack, had ankle monitor :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

If this isn't the ultimate act of stupidity, well, you never know, I'm sure someone out there will top it. Hopefully, like most of you, I'm guessing this jerk had a court date. That is the only logical explanation for this numb-skull being downtown. But then again, this is Chicago and there is always the possibility someone dropped the ball. Remember, these "ankle-straps" are allegedly tamper-proof.

Most of you probably understand why I speak for tougher sentencing guidelines by now. Once a person seeking, or contemplating a crime, a hard 10, 15, or 20 years will serve as a deterrence. Hell, I'd go so far as suggesting this Bozo has an extensive criminal record. If they cannot rehabilitate themselves, or better still, refuse, why bother? Lock them up and make them pick up a book, not dumb-bells.

As for our violent criminals, fry em, gas em, inject em. "An eye for an eye" a wise being once said. But this tool/jerk, lock em up for a hard 20. Stupidity has a price. Now make this clown pay it.

Web site helps homeowners in foreclosure battle :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Business

People need all the help they can get for this calamity. In all likelihood, those too big banks should become more responsible in helping people modify those loans. Yet time and time again, we hear the horror stories of these banks "Collections Departments" giving people the old fashioned run-around.

They (banks) send out the letters asking for applicants to resubmit documents that people have sent in at-least 3 times already. And yet they make no documentation that people have done everything under the sun complying with these institutions. It's an old lie. "We didn't get it". Or better yet, they give people different phone numbers, once contacted, they give them another number to call.

They got their bailout. There is no cause, or reason for them stalling people seeking a modification. Should all else fail, just walkaway. Who needs the old fashioned run-around from a bunch of thieves?

Brazen shooting just blocks from top cop :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Here we go again. A little warm weather and the knuckle-heads bear arms, and are out in force on the streets bringing havoc and pain for families.

I really think our District, County, and State Attorney's need to huddle together, and go down State and force the legislature for tougher sentencing for these knuckle-heads bearing arms. Seriously, a hard 10, or 15 years may just knock some common-sense into these clowns. They are running around just shooting because they have access to guns, that the typical law-abiding citizen doesn't.

This is a serious issue that our State Legislature cannot ignore anymore. There must be severe consequences for these knuckle-heads. Gun shops should, and need the development of some database for sharing information with law enforcement to find out who is making "Straw Purchases" for these criminals.

The weather is getting warmer, and the knuckle-heads are running amok. It's time for our State Legislature to get serious, and strengthen sentencing for violators of our gun laws. No excuses.

Oh well, as usual, the King of Chicago gets what he wants again. We have no Mayor here. What good would these "spy-cameras" do when he got his cuts for street sweeping operations?

I'll tell you what he really got. More people added to the unemployment lines. Once again people that "actually" do work, get the shaft. Sure you have those caught sleeping, or just goofing off on the job, but the majority of them do their job with pride. Just like our teachers, police, fire, and EMT's.
