110-year-old remembers Jim Crow and civil rights :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Lifestyles

A very great story. The part that really struck me, was what her doctor said. No pills, and in excellent health. Take that restless leg syndrome, and all those other fake illness the big pharmaceutical companies come up with.

Former Sox slugger Dye 'shocked' he's unemployed :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: White Sox

I may catch some flak for this, but dude, baseball is a business. You are near that point in life when skills diminish. If a team offered you 200, 250 at bats, you have to make the most of those at bats, as your career is on its downward turn. The money for your services comes with the age factor. Plus a little financial planning for the future can't hurt. That's your fault for looking for too much money at that age.

Greed is a bitch, aint it?

More CPS job cuts as $975 million deficit looms :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Education

Wow! Follow the money is the only answer. I have to admit, I really got a kick out of the millions lost in tax revenue. That's what you get when your Mayor sells off city services to the highest bidder. Hello parking meters.

Schools to take wallop in 2011 state budget :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Politics

Again I ask, what in the hell have these politicians done with the money from the "Lottery Proceeds"? Isn't that "Supposed" to go right into the "General Education Fund"?

Where is the money?

Gov. Quinn starts Web site for state budget advice :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

Gov. Quinn starts Web site for state budget advice :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

Oh people you have to flood this site. Here's my suggestion. Cut all pay for Governor on down, in half. All of them in Springfield cannot justify the salary they are picking out of the people's pockets. Now that is what one would call "Leadership". You politicians need to show it by standing up, and being accountable. Don't ask us, the people for a sacrifice, when you are way too cowardly to start with yourself.

You politicians have been in our pockets for decades, and have shown the people of Illinois nothing but lost jobs, a pitiful education system, a ridiculous tax system that makes the poor, poorer, and last but not least, a "Lottery Con" that is supposed to go in the "General Education Fund". WTF? Look at our "Public Transportation System" for example. It has "Advertising" plastered not only outside, but inside our buses, and trains. What are they doing with that money? Here's a good guess. Raising fares, laying off workers, and cutting service. Where's the money going?

So people of Illinois, I say flood the site, and demand they, the politicians, of all city, village, county, and state office holders take a very nice pay-cut. They don't deserve the money we are paying them, for the simple fact they have not delivered the goods. My tax dollars should go for fully staffed police departments, outstanding hospitals, quality teachers, and a superior education system.

Not video poker, or a casino.

Teachers and their Unions want, and seek improvement for schools, yet the Board of Education seeks their destruction? Aint that a, shut your mouth! Follow the money the Board of Education was seeking from this deal.

It's a shame they have to resort to filing motions just to stop these imbeciles, who by the way may need to go back too school, just to demonstrate they (Teachers) know what works.

Actually, Giannoulias has answered some bank questions :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Election 2010

Actually, Giannoulias has answered some bank questions :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Election 2010

Apparently his answer's have fallen on deaf ears. So here's a question I have for the Illinois Republican Party. What plan do you have for this state? As for myself, I've seen nothing. What? Are you going to tell me that "Tax-Cuts" for the wealthy is the answer? We've been down that road since Reagan. All that did, was nearly wipe-out the middle class. You remember all those manufacturing jobs fleeing overseas?

So what plan do you have that will make this state a shining example for other states to follow? It can't be that hard? I haven't heard or seen anything but one stupid question, that has already been answered. Please don't hit me with that, "We want our country back" crap either. That's not a plan. How are you going to drop unemployment numbers? How are you going to fix public education? What are you going to do about the drop-out rates? What will you do on crime, drugs, and rampant corporate greed by ComEd, People's Gas/Nicor, and all the other "Utility Companies" in this state? How, and what will you do to get Police Departments fully staffed?

So far I've heard nothing from you Republican Party. Nothing but one stupid question, that has already been answered. Where's your plan? Do you have one besides "Tax-Cuts"? Or will you do like your National Party, and just say No?

I'm waiting

Help wanted: City accepting applications for alderman :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

Things just keep getting stranger with this Mayor. I'm leaning towards a skipping of medication might be the case. But the "Anonymous" alderman pretty much summed it up with his quote.

"It invites all kinds of people who have no business applying," the alderman said. "That's not the process. You want a person who the community groups know and want" because that candidate has a better chance of winning the election." http://www.suntimes.com/news/cityhall/2055846,CST-NWS-aldwanted18.article

No I'm not sorry for the language. Just call Chicago, The city that just keeps fucking up. These people have some of the most stupidest reasons ever, for ignoring anything that could benefit residents.

Ask yourself, what in the hell does the CTA have to do with Trash? Well besides trashy service. And since when does a private company have any say on what goes on a trash can? Mayor Daley, you had better move a little faster on this one bub. Oh and by the way, fire that idiotic "spokesperson".

‘Covert’ surveillance cameras coming to Chicago :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: News

‘Covert’ surveillance cameras coming to Chicago :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: News

Well don't say they didn't warn you. Anyone that sees what's really happening out there on the streets, knew this would come soon. Take a stroll back in history with me. Under then President Ronald Reagan, a law was passed to seize the assets of drug dealers. Remember that? What this law did, was "Force" the dealer out on the streets. This makes it easier for police to catch, and lock them up. If you check history, this is when the Great Explosion in prison populations began its rise. Prior to this law, dealers felt a sense of security, henceforth they "Dealt" out of the home, or apartment. With the law being passed, innocent family members were in jeopardy of evictions. Henceforth, the dealer must hit the streets to sell his/her illicit trade.

Now "Covert Cameras" will soon be deployed. That means, all the dummies standing around Bus Stops, laundromats, liquor stores, and alley's, will soon find their way behind bars. This will also include the "Mobile Dealer". Armed with a cell phone, these bozo's sit in their autos waiting for orders to come in, and drive to the users residence.

With that being said, this new strategy will see another rise in prison populations. The dealers, and runners, and users are going to find it tougher to peddle and use this garbage. The dealer, and his/her runners will have no clue they are being watched, and evidence will just pile up against them. This will ensure longer prison sentences.

You were warned dummies. But when they put up the old "Blue-Light" cameras, you knuckleheads thought the police were just trying to scare you. How's that working out? I ask because I don't see you hanging around currency exchanges. With these new cameras going up, you can pretty much forget about your other spots also. You know, Bus Stops, alleys, and laundromats, liquor stores, and your autos.

Cheney Rips Obama Policies, Biden Says Cheney Is 'Rewriting History' -- Politics Daily

Cheney Rips Obama Policies, Biden Says Cheney Is 'Rewriting History' -- Politics Daily

Will some prosecutor somewhere please throw this lying, draft-dodging, constitutional violating, meat-head in Jail?

Here's what bugs me. Why does the media give this lying sack a platform? He is only news once he's indicted. Every criminal justice student, and professional knows this man has zero credibility. When he comes out of his dark cave, why does the person doing the interview, not challenge him with any factual evidence? Why do they let him show his true unpatriotic nature at attempting to re-write history? It is proven this man (being nice calling him that), is a fibber, and a draft-dodger. He has done nothing for this country, but line his own pockets.

Will some prosecutor somewhere, please, please throw this unpatriotic scum-bag under a jail where he truly belongs.

Wow! Talk about being a petty person. Instead of doing something useful with such money, this meat-head thought it would be a great idea to waste it on a billboard. Funny, a homeless shelter, or any other charitable organization could have done wonders with such funds.

Hell I'll even bet he claims he's a Christian. Oh well, some people just can't help themselves. I wonder if he put a billboard up while Bush was in office? My guess, probably not.

Revenge of the Wall Street Traders: The Fat Cats Strike Back - DailyFinance

Revenge of the Wall Street Traders: The Fat Cats Strike Back - DailyFinance

What a bunch of clueless douche-bags. I guess rampant greed truly does blind people to reality.

It's such a shame that responsibility has been thrown out the window these days. A person makes a mistake, and turns around and blames it on someone else. Lying has become standard operating procedure, in politics, and business. For these blind, uncaring, "Fat Cats" have the audacity to say "if Haiti had this...", and that, just proves even more, how totally clueless they truly are. Let's say Haiti had better government, and infrastructure. Would they be there supporting them? A flat out Hell No would suffice here. The reason being, if they couldn't squeeze it dry, why should they even bother pumping one dime into that country.

What a bunch of clueless douche-bags.

Suit: Arrest killed fetus :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Suit: Arrest killed fetus :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Wow! Being an Idiot Racist surely doesn't pay.

Forgive me, but this article does indeed raise a few questions. The first of which. Why hasn't anyone been charged with murder or manslaughter? Where are all the "Right to Life" people? Is it because the victim is Black, that no charges were filed? And last, Who in the hell is the District Attorney there?

I ask that first question because, the child died. One can argue with the definition of a child or fetus, but a "heartbeat" is still just that. Why was no one charged? They were told not once, but twice, the victim was pregnant. After the second announcement, the abuser, placed his knee in the victims back. I don't know about you, but that sure seems like "Intent" for me. So again I ask, why was no one charged?

With the second question, one would think the "Right to Life" crowd would be all over such a horrendous story. Where are they? This young lady was informing these over-zealous thugs, that she was pregnant, and doing what they demanded of her would jeopardize the life of the child. Yet not a peep from them. Is it because she is a "Person of Color"? Draw your own conclusion with that.

As far as the District Attorney goes, and the Police department, that Failed tremendously in handling this blatant act of murder, what's their excuse? The victim could not seek justice in criminal court, so she had to seek some form of justice via civil court?

It is no accident when someone is telling an attacker they are pregnant, yet the attacker decides it's a good idea to place their knee in the victims back while on the ground in a prone position. That folks is pre-meditated, with malicious intent.

Why No Charges?

Drugs: Cops spurn streetcorners, focus on homes :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Drugs: Cops spurn street-corners, focus on homes :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Excellent work officers. Yesterday, or the day before, 9 million dollars worth of marijuana was found in a warehouse, and now a more effective strategy is implemented going after the "Big Cheese". While reading the article, the numbers were indeed staggering, compared to what they were seizing last year. The article also detailed how these criminals took a different approach to sell their deadly trade. Replacing their own "foot-soldiers" with users, to avoid diminishing ranks in numbers of gang members, is a pretty dumb strategy. God only knows how "short" these users came up on a daily basis. But when the heat is on, and gang membership is on the decline, due to sitting behind bars, getting desperate is the only outcome.

Again, excellent work officers. Keep hitting them where it really hurts.

Sarah Palin assails Obama at 'tea party' gathering :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: 44: Barack Obama

Sarah Palin assails Obama at 'tea party' gathering :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: 44: Barack Obama

I guess you could say no big surprise here with Palin. All she did was accuse, and blame, yet offered no ideas, or solutions to solve this nations problems. I find it highly irresponsible for people of her ilk, to dare even complain about this administration, when the previous one is responsible for the situation we came to be in.

Yet here she is, not accepting responsibility for what really happened under the Bush administration, not telling the "audience" the truth, and just flat-out lying. That is not leadership. That is the act of a coward. All one has to do is look at her track record. Rham should be fired, but not Rush. Inconsistent. It's all this administrations fault, not the previous one. Inconsistent. Against abortion rights, yet did not intervene in her own teenage daughters indiscretions, which resulted in a pregnancy. Again, inconsistent.

So here she is Saturday night, complaining again, and offering no solutions. And people actually paid to hear absolutely nothing, but bitching and moaning. And by the way, someone from the media should ask if she agreed with Tom Tancredo's let's go back to Jim Crow speech? Now that's a previous situation I would really like for her to address.

How will CTA cuts affect you? :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Transportation

How will CTA cuts affect you? :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Transportation

Hey go back into the archives, because I told you they should just raise fares at 5 bucks, and leave it at that.

Now here we go again with more bull from this administration, and the state, that only wants to pick on the real people, doing the real work at public transportation. If they really want to close their so-called budget gap, how about cutting those way-too-high salaries they get for doing nothing? I mean come on people. The Chicago Schools honcho has a driver, and two cars? Who knows what the head honcho at CTA, and RTA have in their respective "Perk-Bag".

Lastly, I still have that nagging question of where all that "Advertisement Money" is going? Look, you screwed us on parking, you sold a bridge/sky-way, gave us a nice shiny metallic bean downtown, and now a Lieutenant Governor that may or may not beat women, and God knows what else, that refuses to step down (sounds like a republican).

Just make it an even 5 bucks and leave us the hell alone guys.

Rahm Emanuel's Fiasco Continues, Despite Multiple Apologies - AOL News

AOL, not a very trusted name in news, waits till the near-end of this article to quote Rush Limbaugh's rant on the R-word. Rush claims "he will never apologize" for using that word, "Retarded". One would think Sara Palin will ask for his resignation also?

Don't hold your breath for that.

City Compliance office's No. 2 man resigns :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

City Compliance office's No. 2 man resigns :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: City Hall

What took so long?

News You Don't See On TV

Let's make this a very big deal folks. I got this in my mailbox, and felt it should be passed on. Big Oil wants to continue to bleed Americans dry, regardless of Party Affiliation.

READ THIS FOLKS ........

I was watching a news program on oil and one of the Forbes
brothers was the guest. This is the actual question as asked. The
host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil does the U...S. have in the ground." Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more than all the Middle East put together."

Please read below...

The U... S. Geological Service issued a report in April ('08)
that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since '95)on how much oil was in this area
of the western 2/3 of western South Dakota, and extreme eastern Montana

.... check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska's Prudhoe Bay and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil..

The Energy Information Administration(EIA)estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion.

'When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see
their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.'says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyst. 'This sizable find is now the highest-producing
onshore oil field found in the past 56 years' reports, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

It's a formation known as the Williston Basin but is more commonly
referred to as the 'Bakken.' And it stretches from Northern Montana,
through North Dakota and into Canada. For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end.

Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves..... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL! That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years straight.

2. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should, because it's from TWO YEARS AGO!
U. S.. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World! Stansberry Report
Online - 4/20/2006 Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserves in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels.

On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In three and
a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this
mother-load of oil, why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?
They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our
borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth.

Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia
- 18-times as much oil as Iraq
- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait
- 22-times as much oil as Iran
- 500-times as much oil as Yemen
- and it's all right here in the Western United States

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the
environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America
become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group
of people dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil of crude oil in the world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don't think OPEC will drop its price - even with this find? Think again! It's all about the competitive marketplace,-it has to be. Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention up yet? Hope so! Now, while you're thinking about it .... and hopefully Pissed, do this:

3. Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then
you should stifle yourself the next time you want to complain about gas
prices because by doing NOTHING, you've forfeited your right to complain.
--------
Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you
sent this to every one in your address book?
By the way...this is all true. GOOGLE it or follow this link. It will
blow your mind

$1M bond for parishioner charged with torching church :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Helluva quote: “I set the church on fire because it was more economical,’’ I guess he was feeling the church is only looking out for itself. Think about that the next time your pastor, preacher, rabbi, or cleric pulls in, or leaves from, the place of worship in a vehicle you could never afford.
